An archipelago of epic proportions
So this is an idea I've always toyed with...just imagine with me for one minute...
...the lone ship sailed out into the west...far past the isle of soulwars on which the Avatar's fought...it was quiet on deck until that call that all sailors know echoed from the crow's nest "LAND HO!" The men stared out...the were approaching a seemingly endless string of small islands...there was little water between them...tiny channels...but the work of sentient beings could be seen...small bridges spanned the gaps...little huts were erected on some of the islands...as they sailed along the edge of the archipelago they saw many wonders...huge ports built upon collections of larger islands...wars being carried out across island bridges...strange towers...mysterious cavern entrances and more...the captain finally ordered them to sail back to Ardougne..."My boys, we'll all be rich. You know the adventurers who wander the mainland...they'll pay a pretty penny to get over here...hoist anchor and let's set sail..."
As you can probably tell my idea is for a massive archipelago made up of tiny islands (size of the island of the coast of Draynor with fairy ring-size of Draynor itself)
So some ideas on what could be here...
-plenty of agility shortcuts for places where bridges aren't quite plentiful enough for a hasty player's tastes
-Strange shamans, sorcerers, necromancers living on isolated islands
-large cities built on natural collections of larger islands
-Althakaron...the only mountain in the archipelago...home of a chaos dwarf clan
-deep dungeons with entrances on multiple islands
-small copses of trees on islands...
-Groups of hunter's and fishermen camping on islands...
-strange aquatic creatures wandering the canals
And SO much more
