Re: Multi-Written Quest

You take hold of the bars above and pull yourself up to see what's happening on-deck. A guard sees you, and runs over to stamp on your hands - but you manage to grab the tips of his trousers and pull one of his legs through the slats. Struggling, you clobber the guard with the strange stone until he passes out.

You take a closer look at the stone. It has a hand carved in it and in the middle of the hand is a small cirkular hole. It appears to be missing something. However the time isn't for archaeology.

You knock over a barrel and the lantern the guard placed on it shatters, you cut yourself free on the the sharp glass.

You search the guard to see if he has the key to the hatch. Sadly he hasn't that is why he dared go down there, he knew you couldn't escape. You decide to investigate the hatch anyway and the lock is a puzzle, it is impossible to steal the key.

The puzzle looks like this.

OXOO
XXXX
OOOO
OXO?

You notices that there appears to be some kind of alarm on the lock and you better figure this out instead of guessing. The ? can either be substituted for a X or an O.
If you answer incorrect you will trigger the alarm and have to wait 10 minutes of ingame time for another guard to go check on you.

you make your way to the back (stern) of the ship...you see a hint of light peeking under the door...

Unfortunately the door is locked and the people in the other room are whispering...you recieve a message saying that maybe they left a spare key somewhere...

When you search the nearby crates you receive a black key and a left and right ear

[actually the bandits would be happy that you freed their lord so maybe you should get through without the bribes if you've done it]

(They think you stole their treasure)

You decide that it might not be the best idea to just open the door. Most likely there are four bodyguards waiting for you.
There is a barrel nearby which you hide in and wait until you know what is going on.

one of the bodyguard comes out and sees the unconscious guard lying on the floor...luckily for you you discover that they were storing poisonous darts in the barrel and that there is a small hole in the barrel...you quickly kill the guard using the darts before he can get back to the door

However you are stung by one of the Darts yourself and your combat stats are horribly decreased. You are in no condition to fight.

Two more guards comes out and sees their dead comrades. They start searching the ship, the Archaeologist comes out of the cabin and commands watches the guards while they are looking for you.

You decide that the ship is too dangerous, and dive overboard. You sink slowly into the great a abyss before hitting the sand at the bottom. Amidst a school of fish, you panic, scrambling at the metal cuff-links around your ankles. You manage to loosen it and slip your foot out, but lack of oxygen clouds your vision. You pass out.

You wash up on the shore of the desert just at the transition point between the swamps of Ullek and the far southern desert

You still have both the ears, but the key appears to have been lost.
You make your way a little north, where digsite was and where you were knocked out. All reamins of a camp is gone, but you manage to find the origin of your stone.

It appears that it was just a small part of a huge stone tablet. You decide to place the stone where it belongs and uncover the rest of the tablet. A full human body is carved in it, natural in size.

You place the ears where they belong.

A strange spirit appears...It roves around pointlessly but when you talk to it it approaches and starts to speak without a voice...even once you retrieve your ghostspeak amulet it still seems unable to speak so much as a word...

when you examine the tablet you realize that it is missing two eyes and a tongue...which explains the strange behavior of the ghost
