Shadow of course...you must cast a show spell on the stairway...once in you will now have a short area of light...you will now be able to see lanterns going down the hall...you must cast a shadow spell on each of them to weaken them...but you will still be able to see unaided

Eventually, you reach a circular chamber, off of which three other passages branch. Hovering in the air above the ground is the body of the Archaeologist. His body is pointing towards one passageway in particular. If you try going down any other passage besides that one, you'll find that your way is blocked by the ghost, who appears in front of you and says, "Another sacrifice for another hill..." Resigned to the last passageway, you creep down the hall and notice that despite the burning lanterns, the surrounding area seems to be getting darker and darker.

When you come to the end of the passageway it is almost pitch black but you can still see what is going on...

A strange and eerie voice comes down from above...

"So my darling at last you have brought the final sacrifice to my temple...we can now complete the ritual...

Nirrie, Tirrie and Halak will chat with you a bit. They'll tell you that there is something great evil below the three hills and it has been their for a very long time. They don't think it is the crone/ghost, it seems... different...
They ask you to bring them the Statue of Elid, because they want to protect the people of Nardah from whatever is lurking below the hills.

You mosey on over to Nardah and ask the locals if they'd happy for you to borrow the Statue for a short while, the Spirits of Elid wish to use it in some sort of ritual in order to save them. You realise that it would have probably been smarter to act first and just apologise later, but it's too late now. You go into detail about the tale of the Three Hills, among other things, in the hope to convince them. However, they refuse! Whilst they trust you, and know you wouldn't intentionally put them in harms way, they say that the Statue already holds magically properties, and removing it for even a short time could have dire consequences.

You and the spirits know better than some foolish villagers who cannot see the bigger picture. You decide to remove the statue regardless, even though a few cittizens attempts to stop you, you manage to remove the statuette using telegrab.

You bring back the statue to the spirits.

The spirits send you on an erand to obtain a few essentials to perform the enchantment, and you, as you do, gather them all before returning to the spirits for the next leg of the quest.

[I'm tempted to add that, on return, all the townsfolk have been turned to salt]

Return to the Spirits with the items, they'll perform an enchantment and ask you to place it back at Nardah. Howeve ronce you return you find nothing but statues of salt.

Scared travellers take the most important jobs in the village temporarily. Such as bankers, the herb guy etc. You decide to place the statue back on the plint although it seems to be too late. On the plinth is a single green eye, you take it and place the statue on the plinth again.

The fountain will come to life again, although the water is salt and useless.

You decide to visit Ali the Wise, to ask why everything's so... salty. But, to your dismay, all you find is a pile of salt, some scraps of Elid-yellow fabric, Ali's notes on the mahjarrat, and a journal detailing nothing but your encounters with the mahjarrat.

Additional quest requirements - none, but any mahjarrat-related quests you've completed will appear in the book. Until future developments, you will have to add notes to the book yourself - hopefully Ali will appreciate them.
