Multi-Written Quest V2

Post by Ruy112 on Fri Jul 10, 2009 11:06 am

Hello and welcome to this thread.

This is the second installment of the Multi-Written Quest which turned out to be a little twisted. Therefore please try to stay on the main storyline and don't keep including sub-stories, and if you do, please let it be relevant and easy to finish off.
NO CULTS!

It may not work, please ask if you are confused or if you think anything should be added.

Also please add a little bit for the reward each time, only around 1000 experience or something, preferably something that fits with the quest. Also don't forget to add unique rewards.

First part

Ahh, Morytania. The ever-spooky home of vampires, vampyres, leeches, werewolves, and who knows what else? Being ever the bold adventurer, you decide to brave the forsaken land and see what quests you can go on. Here we find you, travelling carefully through the werewolf ghetto Canifis...

Tired, cold, and hungry, you make for the inn but your hunger unsated and the company present to be...unagreeable. Fortunately, you notice a little shack across the road with a single lantern and a little wooden sign hanging from the roof: Shackel's Inn. The door opens easily and leads into a single room with no other exits, save a trapdoor that leads to the cellar. Shackel is nowhere to be seen, although a rocker near a table seems to indicate that he has been in here recently. You decide to examine the room and see if it is fit for lodgings. As you look over the table, you notice a small piece of paper with a hurriedly scribble drawing on it. The drawing consists of two giant staring eyes surrounded by darkness, and a giant toothy grin below them. Blood seems to be dripping from the teeth. It takes a few seconds for you to realize, but the blood in the picture isn't just drawn on...it's real!

I'm not participating in this one due to the fact that you obviously haven't even tried to understand my idea and have just ignored it

Also because in anything like this there should be a rotation of who gets to create the main idea...

If you let 3mpty or TATORZ or Jeeves create a premise that would be more reasonable

Dark, I've tried multiple times to understand your idea, but I find it confusing and last time I posted, you asked me to delete my post, I can try posting...

Why don't you create a better premise then? I tried this with Jeeves in the chat yesterday and he thought it was fine.

Oh that was just because you were asking for explanation and not contributing...if you try and contribute I'll accept it

I'll start things off, I guess:

You take the paper as it might prove useful later, those things always does. You decide to investigate the metal trapdoor, only to find it... Locked. You aren't the first one to attempt opening the trapdoor, it seems to be beaten up by someone tremedously strong, also it has claw-marks on it, someone, or something wanted to open the door really badly, but it appears that it wasn't succesful.

As the trapdoor seemingly has no way to open it from the outside, you decide to go to the other inn, just to check if anyone knows anything.

You enter the Hair of the Dog and ask Roavar about Shackel's Inn. He enters into a long monologue about how Shackel had been a normal citizen of Canifis until he went deep into the swamps one day. Werewolves can usually handle themselves pretty well but Shackel didn't come back for a whole week. After he returned, he just wasn't the same. He spent most of his time inside his house, drawing strange pictures of staring eyes and howling that he was cursed. Shortly after that, he turned his shack into an inn and invited weary traverlers to stay the night.

Funny thing is, Roavar says, he's never seen the guests leave the shack at all. Shackel, of course, always blundered about how they left in the middle of the night, but Roavar suspects something else is going on. When you mention that Shackel seems to be missing and that the only clue was the bloody picture, Roavar scoffs and says that maybe Shackel's "curse" caught up with him. When you keep pressing him for information, he suggests that you either keep searching his house for more clues or just head into the swamp and see if you can find what spooked him.

You decide to head back to Shackel's Inn, sadly there is no clues. However behind the Inn, earth appears to have been dug up, and small lumps of Daeyalt is to be found among the turned muddy earth. However that isn't enough clue to Shackel's whereabouts, so you decide to follow Roavar's advice and go looking for him in the swamp.

There is no clue to Shackel's whereabouts, so it might take you some time to find any sign of him. However if you wander by the Graveyard where you during Desert Treasure fought Dessous, you would notice another crude drawing of the same motive, except this one is only eyes and appears to be half finished.
