The One Worded Story

I have an extremely hard game for you all... 
It is a story writing game where YOU write the story.
However, to add to the story, you must reply with one word. It must make sense, and can be as long as needed! Proper grammar is a must as well... (Or else, I will make you restart the sentence and take on a different path for your story!)
Keep the sentences at a variety of lengths, and a person cannot post twice in a row!
Example=
Person A- The
Person B- monkey
Person A- ate
Person B- a
Person A- banana,
Person B- an
Person A- orange,
Person B- and
Person A- a
Person B- peach.
You up for the challenge?
I'll start you all off...

The story so far:

The adventure began climbing along an iceberg. Marc sighed and looked toward the horizon where he saw nothing but gulls. Marc stopped and checked the ground for tracks. He lifted it up, it was cold. His hand was cold.
"I don't like the cold".
