The Remnants

Post by Blaze FF8 on Mon Oct 26, 2009 8:00 pm

The Remnants are a another antagonistic group of mine, which were partially inspired by "The Phases" from the .Hack// series. They're created from negative emotions and dark realities. I havnt placed them in any definate role for any storyline, but I did consider making them boss battles in a sequal to Zavionce
(which will probably remain non-existant. ).
I intend to post the pictures of all 12 of them while giving each a brief discription. I might also share a concept for what would be Zavionce's sequal at some point too.
But regardless, each have their own basis-background which will probably remain the same, regardless of where they appear.

As for each's theme, I'm not good enough at playing the keyboard yet to come out with anything all that brilliant, but I know some sound-tracks which accompany each Remnant quite nicely, so I'll post links to those pieces of music instead for now.

The Twelve Remnants

1) Maliace - The Remorseless Impedment
2) Vesperiah - The Miasmic Infusion
3) Lucrien - The Cherished Condemner
4) Mauvour - The Mind of Monstrosity
5) Shurael - The Unsung Memory
6) Zeint - The Deviation of Death
7) Kelvaunt - The Keeper of Freedom
8 ) Sinless - The Purified Judgement
9) Mazdass - The Ravaged Resentment
10) Abaishia - The Otherworldly Illusion
11) Rhapson - The Exultant Awakening
12) Reduxia - The Absolute All

01 - Maliace: The Remorseless Impediment

Allignment: Destruction

Bio: For many years, Maliace was thought to be the only Remnant in existance, and was spotted quite frequintly, traversing the skies over the mountain ranges. His appearances are what led people to realise that what he was, was to be feared, as each and every appearance of his marked as an bad omen, as each and every sighting of him was seen shortly before a great tragedy! But it would be long after his first sighting that the mysterious force controlling the remnants would allow the others to be brought to the world's attention...
It was then apparant that Maliace's place within the enigmatic race, was a scouter. He explored the planet and its populance, discovering weaknesses in mankind's world for the other Remnants to attack. The reason why... remains a mystery...
Only after the others made themselves known, did Maliace too, begin attacking, rather than simply propagating the doom his comrades would inflict. He would strike down lives in a relentless fury, seemingly just to hinder humanity's chances against the Remnants. Because of his mindless rampages, Maliace was the first remnant to be brought down, as well as the first to be discovered...

History: It was after the monster's defeat that research could be done to discover the creature's true disposition and, hopefully, the purpose behind its motives. It was realised that the remnant's existance was partially ethereal, similar to that of a ghost, as by analysing its brain, it harboured no indication of possessing feeling or ability of thought. Just an instictive need to obliterate and despise...
Eerily enough, it was also found out that it possessed near identical DNA of a particular human, long since dead after recieving the death penalty for mass homicide; a mental patiant suffering from psychotic hatred since an allarmingly young age, his hate easily consumed his restraint for harming others, even fellow psychopaths would take fear at Maliace's apparant past-life. It was assumed by this point, that the Remnants were the remains of people who died with a great burden in their lives, in this case; destruction.
But why they suddenly appeared after so many years of life on earth, was still a complete enigma...

02 - Vesperiah: The Miasmic Infusion

Allignment: Cruelty & Victim-Hood

Bio: Vesperiah is considered by many to be the darkest of the remnants; being the embodiement of
one of humanity's darker mindframes as well as its results. Though it is unknown whether Vesperiah is one creature or two... Vesperiah, while being far from the strongest of the Remnants, caused mass amounts of carnage across the planet mainly through mental means. Seemingly knowing all regarding the human action of inflicting grief and slander, and even deep inner pain. Vesperiah would study those who committed acts of deep cruelty, learning about their ways of sadistic torture, before confronting them to gouge them with the spike-like lance of cruelty itself, protruding from his face, which led to him absorbing his victim's dark nature. This action seems to reflect the common outcome of cruelty and victim-hood's meeting;
...Revenge.

The darker side of Vesperiah reflects what he wishes to achieve: Total inner annihilation. By putting his collected archive of cruelty to use, he can potentially devestate the Remnants' opposition mentally, leaving them too weak to retaliate to the mysterious species' assualts. Vesperiah's knowledge of sadness and victim-hood which follows cruelty leeds him to forsee and expect his enemies' reaction to his evil ways.

History: Vesperiah was the 2nd Remnant to be discovered after a sudden plague of hatred and sorrow gripped the world, seemingly created from increasing feelings of anger, regret and spite from people, especially those who were highly familiar with the feelings. This led others to investigate. Some settlements with darker backgrounds became consumed by Vesperiah's influence, but still held on to a slight shard of light within themselves. It was then when Vesperiah physically appeared for the first time, to taunt and abuse those in this situation, and rend them of their last shred of happiness... A protagonistic group followed Vesperiah's trail, and encountered him within another tarnished village, and engaged him in battle. It was his opponents' care for each other that led to Vesperiah's downfall, as being faced with emotions completely opposite from those he was made from, he beame frightenned and beyond vulnerable to the heroes' attacks.

It was discovered later that Vesperiah's original being was one of a child! A boy who lived an abused life at home, and grew up in the 1st town Vesperiah chose to destroy... He himself caused great sadness by bullying others to a incredibly harsh extent to take out his own anger, but when the stronger kids of his age-group retaliated, he became defenseless. he in turn, felt the sorrow he inflicted... What happened to that child next is a mystery, as no records had been uncovered regarding his 8th year or older...

In deed. In response to your deviant comment, I wasn't making a remark on Maliace... merely pointing out the lack of malice. Tongue

Hmmm. It's good. But they don't form from their own emotions. Tongue
