Dead Skills and Fair Play?!

Post by 3mptylord on Sun Jul 05, 2009 7:15 pm

Okay, let's compose a list of the dead skills - and why they're dead - and not only at least one suggestion to improve it, but a suggestion on how you would make it mean MMO-friendly. Smile

Herblore - I'm afraid adding new herbs and potions isn't going to do anything for the skill. It's expensive, slow, and boring.

I've said before, but untradeable add-ons to finished potions to add to their potency would be nice, as we've discuessed on the TST thread on RSOF

I think a simple solution would be to upgrade it to more of a medic skill. Potions that heal, slightly, among other things and YOU can use them on OTHER people to have the effect take place. Like you said, untradeables, I reckon a good effect from an untradeable ingredient would be an affect that lasts for a length of time and then stops, rather than slowly gets useless. Smile

Firemaking! Litterally only burning money, no gain, no advantage, just a cape and a few quests.

Now some suggestions? Wink

You do you make profit from burning stuff? On my Ashes thread, we suggested that wood ash should be graded and sold for compost! Yew Ash would probably sell, if it's compost was better than super, but the others are just progression (the same with all skills).

Partially crafting - No profit anywhere in this skill, why make an amulet of glory from a dragonstone if you lose 10k?

Ya, except for Resource Gathering skills. All processing skills.

I disagree lol. Runecraft is a useless (some people consider it processing, but I suppose it's how you interpret the lore); Smithing is a useless processing skill, etc.

Ya, I meant processing skills are useless, resource gathering are good, character development are uselss too, combat is the only way to make money nowadays.
