RuneScape: a History.
Can we re-write and tone-up RuneScape's timeline? It's contradictory and full of holes, and I'm sure we could give it some beef.
RuneScape has tectonic plates; causing earthquakes, volcanoes, mountains and continental shift. RuneScape, in terms of astronomy and geography, is almost the same shape and size as Earth - due to exact similarities in the length of a day, a year, etc. There is some room for variation, of course, but it's not massive. At the moment, RuneScape is a pangaea - but due to it's size relative to Earth, we have to assume it's only one continent or many, and this has always been implied anyway. Anyway, what I'm trying to get at is that there should be a much greater length of time between this lump of rock being formed and the present day where continental shift would be present - allowing room for countless other ages where intelligent life may have never existed, evolution, etc. There's a lot of fun to be had. It's possible that Guthix and the era between then and now could be exactly the same length of time, but it doesn't mean that there wasn't any Jurassic era.
Creation of the planet.
Several billions of years later.
Guthix shows up and creates RuneScape.
12000 years later.
Present day.
And in the last 4000 years the Dragonkin created the wyrm who evolved into the dragon. That was fast. Maybe we're missing the "million"... it's actually been 12000million years since Guthix showed up.

Guthix = God
First Humans = Adam and Eve
...urgh?
I'm not sure what I'm getting at here, but many believe that the world was created 6000 yrs ago...which isn't true...who knows what lies you can spread when you actually are a supreme god

Re: RuneScape: a History.
Every type of animal in Earth's history has had it's time at the top of the food chain, or, I think. Fish, Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds and Insects have all had a few million years and now it's the mammals turn - but we're due for our extension soon, so who knows what's next. The birds is the only one I can't fully remember, but they are almost reptiles ain't they? I remember reading some trivia on dinosaurs and the chickens being related.
So perhaps RuneScape should have eras? With the modern era beginning with Guthix.
