<> Ooh look...new stats! <>

<> Ooh look...new stats! <>

A Comprehensive list of statistical changes...

Mage Stats

Well uh...in most cases let's multiply that attack stat by like 4 at least

Dragonhide

Yeah...simple stuff...give it negative melee attack bonuses or something

Melee Armour...ok give this much more negative ranged bonus than it already has...ranger shouldn't be able to have +120 range attack and +200 or mroe against the class they are weak to

Blessed D'hide and God Armour

Give it prayer boosts

Melee Weapons

Obviously Jagex views magic as similar to electricity, lets make metal weapons conductor rods

Mystic Staves

Shouldn't they be, um, mystical...ya know...like more magical than than a normal staff

God Staves

Some gods they are...their staves are weaker than an elemental staff, and apparently the gods don't even know how to give it the ability autocast.

I mean I understand that guthix is bribing us into helping out his little assassination squad but really...

Ancient Staff

I thought prayer was tied to know god in particular (glares at Jagex) so why is it that an item CONSECRATED TO A GOD (albeit a dead one) has negative prayer bonus?

RFD Gloves

Wow jagex...what a nice way of saying you care about mages...halving the stats and all...give it the same stats as every other class

Javelins and Thrown Axes

What the heck is the point of these if they don't even have a half decent ranged strength bonus...give them a bonus better than arrows...

Magic armour to actually have defences on would be a good start.

I don't. Defensive spells are a cheap cop-out and cliché solution to something that could be solved in a much more interesting way. I've seen 3mpty's conjuring idea on the official forums (Psychoboy8 is his username, isn't it? It's in his profile) and whilst I don't think the armour-look is good... wearing robes made of fire might be cool, and definitely more interesting than just casting a spell.

Oh, if you see this 3mpty, I support your conjuring idea... just, add some magic-looking defence stuff as well. The concept is nice and I don't have any problems with the weapons... but I don't want to wear something that looks like melee armour.

One of them is lol.

I get Kandarin's point, and I've made it myself I know. Okay... let's put it in perspective. You know my opinion on splitting Magic, aye? And that I'd have teleports, curses, binds, etc, all in the universal skill so that all classes can use them? Because... each class should be stand alone sort of thing. Well, if there were Defencive spells they should go with them in the universal skill...

1. No! Just no! Defensive spells should not be available as NON-COMBAT magic NO! That should be mage territory and mage territory alone!

2. Admittedly those robes look cool and awesome, however even that would have minimal defence against an attack, not to mention the fact that the reason those robes allow for defensive capabilities is probably that tehy are enchanted, something a good mage could probably do to anything.

3. Actually if I were a mage I'd probably learn how to protect myself with my staff

4. Jagex treats magic like electricity, most armoured robes would hinder teh flow

5. How the **** are defensive spells a cheap cop-out

1. That was replying to 3mpty I guess, but there's nothing wrong with what he said. Personally I'm interested in the idea that Magic as a combat class and using magic should be two different things and the concept of a defensive spell would go better in using magic rather than a combat class. Even in WoW nearly every class can use magic... it makes Magic a very constricting skill if you force to much on it and only allow a third of the game to use it without harming their choice.

2+4. What's wrong with what you said then? Enchanted. That's what Magic's about, isn't it... there's not suppose to be anything logical about it. Also, Jagex doesn't treat Magic like electricity... they treat Magic like energy (most commonly heat, as metal is a good conductor). I don't wear metal boots, I wear leather... so does that mean that, despite my armour, I won't feel a thing as I am not earthed? Metal magnifies the damage whilst hide absorbs it, so surely wearing metal would increase the charge you expel? Even if there is a small chance of discharge?

3. Combat skills is nothing to do with your idea.

5. It's a cheap cop out because there is nothing new with what you've suggested. It doesn't take a genius to try and solve all magic's problems with a spell.

Argh, if only there were no classes... it'd be more realistic and fun. Just have an adventurer - primary is melee, end of. Magic and Ranged are just something you can do if you want and all damage is calculated based on defence and offence... regardless of what weapon. If you're a high-levelled mage fighting a low levelled melee you'll win because you're high-levelled and not because he's a melee.
