Lol, no, the minority had demons and the majority had the anima mundi... the demons were encased in stone and burred in the heart of the mountain and their supporters were somewhat exiled.

Fairy based books for kids...they basically have a group of demons who get turned into stone and buried in a volcano and the rest of their kind is exiled to limbo outside of time while all the other nature fairies rejoice...

The Everto, a pantheon of seven demons, came to Agerdomus pretending to by the Faun's Dae't. The Faun rejoice in their gods walking among them, and did well to appease them. In the human 3rd Age, the Everto were unmasked as frauds and war broke out between those who wished to remain faithful to the demons, and those who saw them as blasphemers. The Everto were petrified and placed deep within a mountain, whilst their followers were outcast by the rest of the faun. They weren't actually exiled as none could leave (or visit) the island at the time.
