Being Human
This quest would be based on the BBC3 television series by the same name.
The purpose of this quest is to explore the lore of five forms of in-humanity - ghost (Amiee), werewolf* (Greg), vampire (Mitch), wight (Gabriel) and lich (Eoghan). The quest series is short and unattached to any existing storyline, although it would cross paths with Priest in Peril (including some light on the holy barrier). The five share a house in the slums of Varrock** and the first quest revolves predominantly around the werewolf.
Amiee was cursed, by her scorned lover, to rot alone in the afterlife. She is a ghost (you know, intangible spirit thing), but she can only be seen through her reflection. Gabriel is a wight. Upon their death bed, it was a tradition of Gabriel's people that the person would be encased in stone so has to preserve their memory. The spell did this ever-literally, granting those encased an everliving-life (immune to disease and age). However, the spell also bore a curse - wights may not connect eyes with another living-human, for they (the wight) should crumble to dust. Gabriel found friends when she met our other protagonists, as none are technically alive or human.
I'm still developing the story, I just thought posting it might incentive me.
*Greg is is infected by a more recognisable version of lycanthropy, wherein he is only affected by moonlight. If not for the werewolf in the Betrayal of Falador, I would have just made up some lore like the artificial conditions that linger over Mort Myre allow the werewolves control over their curse - but, well, that cant work with the aforementioned werewolf in consideration. In fact, that is how I've always seen it until Blaze pointed out Betrayal of Falador.
**I'm aware both werewolf and vampire cannot cross the River Salve, this is included in the story.

Re: Being Human
Well, since most of these creatures have origins in Morytania, why not set them in a secret, isolated part of Morytania, and their primary goal in life is to Cross the Salve because they seek help to rid of their ailments.
So why not make a quest where you do something disastrous that will allow them to cross the Salve, thus causing an opportunity for an epic 5th quest to conclude the story...
I don't know, but this could be an option that could possibly re-direct the course of RS quests. I love apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic quests and stories!

Re: Being Human
Whilst getting across the river salve is an interesting angle, that would interfere with the Legacy of Seergaze storyline, wouldn't it?

Re: Being Human
Hmmm... no interference, plox.
It'd be cool if they... maybe crossed before we strengthened it.

Re: Being Human
I think the only definition we have of the holy barrier is that it prevents evil from crossing. I think that alone leaves room for a wiggle/interpretation.

Re: Being Human
why not be daring and interfere with other storylines? I'm sure it could be an influence. That is why I said, it'll cause a apocalypse of vampires to take over Misthalin when those four discover the weakness in the magic of the Salve.

Re: Being Human
But... these characters are protagonists. They consider themselves forsaken by the gods and do not wish to overthrow anything. This is with the exception of Eoghan who finds going cold-turkey pointless and no-one cares about a rotting corpse.
