Demonic Purification
-- The prequel to Gielinor's Fiyre is here!
--
A lot of young children love dolls. A few adults love dolls too.
Some dolls are role-playing and childish fun, some are for Voodoo, and some for other religious uses, but there is one kind that stands out from the rest, as it seems to be a part of everyones soul. These dolls arent to be played around with, unless you really are honestly hell-bent on the destruction of sanity in every human. If you cant deal with people using YOU as a puppet, why create something so harmful?
Jean Earie might have an answer in all of his so-called craziness, but you must cure his crazy first, and you might have do some things that Saradominists might consider unorthodox in this rather abstract quest
This quest is also a prequel to my monster quest, Gielinor's Fiyre- if you can pass the challenge of this quest you are definitley ready.

THE PRELUDE
- The events leading up to Purification Ritual -
1. To begin this quest, you must talk Mellissa Earie, a woman walking the streets of Yanille once you have ALL the requirements fulfilled. She is a skinny woman, dressed in dirty middle-class clothing. If you have all requirements, she will at first beg for some help of medical care for her mentally ill husband, Jean, and you will of course, help her out of the good of your heart. If you dont have all your requirements, she will just beg for money to help her husband, and then you decline and make fun of her begging.
2. Now, you need to travel to Jean Earie who lives in a rather shabby house west of Yanille, east of the river by Castle Wars, and southwest of the Tree Gnome Village away from the ogres.
Once you get to his home, knock on the door. You will be in a short conversation where he doesnt want anyone in the home, and wants you to leave. You try and convince him to let you in, and it works. He can't speak proper English and will say rather random comments.
3. Once you are inside, talk to him, and ask him everything possible that comes up in your chat. He will try to make out that he is trying to seek out religious help instead because every known medical treatment has failed and that he does have a strong devotion to every god in Runescape, and he is quite desperate to rid him of his ailments.
4. Go back to his wife, and tell her what he said. She will agree that he has a particular devotion to the gods and he joined some weird thing recently like a church, of something of that sort. However, she will also say that he prefers Saradomin over the others by a tad. So then she asks you if you could find the closest Saradominist priest or religious figure.
5. That means the Ardounge Monastery.
So, your best goal is to go there and see what happens next.
Once you have arrived, talk to the Abbot about the ailment, and he does not know, but all he knows is to go on a religious pilgrimage to seek the answers. He will give you a checklist of which altars to pray in order. They go as such:
1) Lumbridge
2) Varrock
3) Edgeville Monastery
4) Paterdomus
5) Entrana
6) Port Sarim
7) Seer's Village
8 ) East Ardounge
9) Ardounge Monastery
10) West Ardounge
6. So pray at each altar listed above. Each time you pray at an altar, you will gain 1 Prayer Point and your Thieving level will loose 5 levels (like level 85/90; not the actual level). At the last altar, you will wind up with-10 Thieving, (like -10/50) no matter what. It will drop to no less, and will quickly restore back to its original level.
You must ONLY pray at those altars listed below, or else Saradomin will make your prayer points to level -5, and will deal 2 damage to you.
7. Once you have prayed at the final altar in West Ardounge, a Mourner will walk in and tell you to go away, then hell try and teleport you to East Ardounge, but they wind up teleporting you to the Lunar Isle.

Re: Demonic Purification
8. Since you are already on the Lunar Isle, right next to the Oniermacer, it would be wise to talk to the Oniermacer, but you need your Seal of Passage first to talk to her. But, I hope you take that as hint that you need to speak to her to progress through the quest.
Once you have your Seal of Passage, it would be wise to talk to her. When you speak to her and tell her of your problems, she will say that normal means of medication and medical treatment will not work, as mentioned before, and that you must cure the person by is through cleansing the spirit. The only way to cleanse his spirit is by using a secret Purification Ritual, and then vanquishing his fears and the demons in his mind as well as his dreams. However, the Oniermacer has no idea on how to complete because this is more than a slash-and-burn into someone elses dream like in Dream Mentor and Cyrusis, so she recommends you to talk to Jorral.
9. This is your friend that you helped go in the past in Making History quest. Well, you have to go back to him for something other than time-traveling
Once you arrived at the outpost northwest of Ardounge, talk to the man. After a quick conversation of you describing your dilemma, he will detail the Purification Ritual, as if he has done it before, although he said he studied it intently when he came across a rather strange cult a few years ago; he doesnt remember the name of them, unfortunately. He also describes how you complete this Purification Ritual is by:
1) Obtain your subject, and items necessary (a Demonic Doll, a offering, some holy sand)
2) Find out where your subject lives, and that is where you perform the Ritual
3) Pour the holy sand in an enneagram (9-sided star figure)
4) Place the offering and subject on the center nonagon of the enneagram
5) Say the chant the saying, Ignus Matar
6) Itll activate the demonic Doll, allowing the Godly Presence, a presence like an interactive prayer by the god you called upon, and wait for results.
He will also how to describe how to make each item used for the ritual are described in the following steps for completion. Please note that you can do the following in any order you choose, like you can start making the holy sand first and then get bored and then you start making the demonic doll.

==#^_> The Offering <_^#==
This part is rather easy and simple.
-----------------
Q & A (read it, as it answers many important questions.

Re: Demonic Purification
To make your Demonic Doll, you must make each part separately.
~ The Clothing ~
1. To make the clothing, you must first gather 2 Wine of Zamoraks, 2 Sheets of Silk, 2 Bottles of Blue dye,
2 Wools freshly sheared from a sheep, and 3 balls of wool and some needles.
2. To make the stuffing, mess up the wool by right clicking it.
3. Alright, now get the silk and dye each one blue using the dye.
4. Then, pour the Wine of Zamorak over it, making the silk stain into a red-violet.
5. Using the needle and a ball of will, make a dress, and a bonnet.
~ The Body and Ligaments ~
1. Grab one knife and a magic log, some stuffing, a ball of wool, needle, and the Dolls Dress.
2. Use you knife with the magic log and you get a selection to either carve a bow or the doll. Carve the doll, and you will get a Rough Doll Frame. Right-click it and select, Carve Arms and Legs, you will do so. Now you have three main parts of the doll.
3. Use your chisel to refine the doll frame even more.
4. Use your Refine Doll Frame with the stuffing, and then cover it with silk.
5. Use your ball of wool to stitch together the doll.
6. Using your knife, carve out some holes for the head and the ligaments.
7. Use each ligament with the complete body frame. Then, you have a finished dolls body.
~ The Head ~
1. You will need to gather your Magic Essence Potion (consult other guides on how to make them), your talismans, your rune essence, your bonnet that you just made, some needles, and a ball of wool
2. Then, pour your Essence Potion over your Pure Essence. You will receive Enhanced Essence
3. Head on over to Entrana with your Law Talisman and Chaos Rune, OR head on over to the Chaos RC altar with your Chaos Talisman and Law Rune. Always have your Enhanced Essence with you.
4. Once in front of the altar, place your Enhanced Essence along with your only rune on it.
5. Extract the power other altar using your talisman into the Enhanced Essence. You will result in loosing your talisman and receiving 1 Law of Chaos Rune.
6. Use the Dolls Bonnet over the Law of Essence rune; ting it on there with your needle and ball of wool. Resulting in Dolls Head
~ Finishing the Doll ~
1. Grab another ball of wool and a few needles, your Dolls Head and Completed Dolls Body.
2. Sew each other together, resulting in an 'U*blessed Demonic Doll
3. Time to enchant it hehe. So, all you need to do is bring it to the Altar of Guthix in Taverly. Once you get there, you need to offer it to Zamorak by using it on the altar, and selecting whom to praise in a menu in your chat interface. You will then be dealt 20 damage for using a Zamorakian tool of worship on an altar of Guthix. You now have the Uncharged Demonic Doll
4. Then, you must cast a Level-5 enchant spell on it, to give it magical abilities. You will be dealt another 20 damage. You will now have a Nearly Charged Demonic Doll.
5. Your next step is to cast every wave spell (air, water, fire, and earth) on it, making it absorb every wave, and charging its magic-absorbing abilities. By the way, once you charge it, you are complete, but you wont be able to cast any magic spell while you have it in your inventory.
THE PURIFICATION RITUAL
- This part of the quest deals with the actual Ritual. Be careful because you might run into trouble -
1. Alright, now that you have everything you need, you should head for Jeans house. Also, take your best combat gear, food, and potions because there will be a lot of fighting, if you dont have your stuff, then you will get some crap armour weapons, food, and potions from something
2. Once you arrive at his house, enter it. Jean is in his house sleeping. Let him be, it is in-fact GOOD that he is asleep and you dont need to intervene lol
3. Use your Bucket of Holy Sand on the carpet. Your character will then start to make a enneagram. Once your character has finished, it will look mighty creepy.
4. CAREFULLY pick Jean out of his bed and place him on the center of the enneagram. You pick him by right-clicking on his sleeping body, selecting, Carefully Carry and then right-click on the center nonagon of the enneagram, selecting Carefully Place.
5. Once you have placed his body in the center, use your Basket of Fruit on him. It will result in having the fruit basket being placed on his sleeping belly.
6. NOW it is time to recite the prayer. You can do this by right clicking the Demonic Doll, and selecting, Recite Chant.
Once you have done that, you will have sparked a cutscene!
The cutscene starts with you holding the Demonic Doll in the air, while you chant Ignus Matar! Over and over. The doll will eventually start to glow white, you stop chanting when the blue sparks will start flying out of it, then you become engulfed into them, and you turn into a white silhouette, then the Holy Sand, the fruit pops, and then Jean glows white.
After that, your silhouette starts morphing into the silhouette the Holy Sand, then everything cuts to black for a second.
The screen fades from black and reveals that you are in an area similar to what it was like in Dream Mentor, only except there is one lone figure that looks like a statue of Zamorak.
*End Cutscene*
7. Walk up to the statue, and interact with it. It will be realized that I is an Impression of Zamorak (Level 175). Talk to it.
It will speak in Shakespearean/Elizabethan language and basically it will say that you have done wrong helping this man, who loves all gods, but to properly love Zamorak, he must not love Saradomin, and since he has a particular favorite towards Saradomin, Zamorak is punishing him with insanity. The only way to get this guy out of Jean is to either infest your (the players) mind or the figure must be killed. He will give you an option to kill him and will be fair to equip you with armour and potions and food to make it fair if you did*t prepare.
~ The Clothing ~
1. To make the clothing, you must first gather 2 Wine of Zamoraks, 2 Sheets of Silk, 2 Bottles of Blue dye,
2 Wools freshly sheared from a sheep, and 3 balls of wool and some needles.

Re: Demonic Purification
8. To fight him, you must be ready. You cannot escape this dream world until you beat him in battle, if you die you will have to restart from Stage 1 no matter what stage you are on. This involves three stages. After three stages, the food you have eaten the potions you have consumed, and you health will restored only because these battles are so challenging. You may use prayer.
~ The First Stage is just you and him. When his health is at 0, he will heal and will immediately begin the second stage and he attacks with melee and ranged attacks.
~ The Second Stage is a little harder, this time he teleports himself around the battle field constantly at random places, attacking with melee. Once he is half-way dead, he summons 4 little level 77 Inadequacies attacking you with ranged attacks, however, they can be easily confused with magical attacks.
~ The Third Stage involves him attacking you with Flames of Zamorak spell. He will also have the level 347 Inadequacy to help him, occasionally sending out ranged attacks. Also, he is at half-way in health, the half of the arena will collapse, leaving you on a tiny strip of land for the Inadequacy and the Figure of Zamorak to have fun with you. By the way, he occasionally switches to the opposite side of the arena. (Inadequacy is in the direct middle, ready to attack you as it does anyway from a distance, and if you are close enough to it, it will attack you with melee).
9. Once you have finished the Third Stage (congrats!), the Inadequacy with disintegrate, leaving you and the Figure of Zamorak alone. Talk to him. He will say that you win and that you may have this mortal back, and you successfully cleansed him! So then you will be teleported out of his dream and back into reality where you performed the ritual.
10. Jean will be awake, so talk to him. He will talk sanely, while youll have no memory over what you had done, except hell know, and hell tank you for it. Also, you give him the Demonic Doll to him because you have no earthly idea what it is, causing 5 damage to your body.
Quest complete!
Congratulations! You have completed Demonic Purification!
You have been awarded:
- 3 Quest Points
- 20,000 Magic and Crafting XP
Total Quest Points: ?
End Notes
If you have already read Gielinor's Fiyre, you know who Jean is, right? SPOILER ALERT! Well, he is one of the Martyr Spirits that you have to help!
If you are also wondering WHY I made a prequel, AFTER I made Gielinor's Fiyre is because Gielinor's Fiyre is about two times harder than WGS, and there are no quests that can prepare you for the kind of deeds you'll do, it adds some more meaning as to whom died in my quest and to add some more ethos, and I realized that Meeting History is a little too light to be an almost direct prequel to GF, lol.
So if you have any comments, suggestions, questions spit 'em out, but please do it in a constructive, nice way!
Thanks for reading my quest, and you may post away!
Have fun!

Re: Demonic Purification
Read. Awesome. A little too much item fetching for my taste, also it could do with a puzzle. But very well made.

Re: Demonic Purification
you do have a point, as most people have done item-fetching quests like Prince Ali Rescue, but this quest, it is multiplied. XD
What do you suggest?

Re: Demonic Purification
Some kind of maze in dream world?
A riddle for the fruit basket ex. "Double as many bananas as apples, the total amount must equal the amount of watermelon etc. "
Or maybe you have to remember the chant, like in the old version of demon slayer? (Maybe it is still there)
Instead of listing the necessary altars. Draw lines between them on the world map, then remove the map so you only have some kind of many pointed star, then just have the monk give you a scroll with that drawing and you have to figure out yourself.
Just some random ideas.
