I pronounce it flat and Danish Ar-Don-Nje, I know it is wrong, but it kinda stuck.
(The G is silent in Gnome, curse you English language!)

I think Ruy's way IS (or almost) the real way; Ar-doyn.
"J" in Dutch languages is pronounced like the letter "Y" in English (in most cases)... so don-nje would be pronouced like doyn with a bit of an ee sound at the end.
Also, the "G" in Gnome, "K" in Knife/Knee and "Th" in Thomas, never used to be silent. Guh-nome, Kuh-nife and Thomas (pronounced with a "th" like in Thorne). They were dropped in pronunciation to make it easier. I think the G in Gnome was only dropped as a hard sound, as you can sort-a here another sound being formed right before you cut in with the "nome".
