Name Change?

What will you choose??!

If you had the ability to change your name, would you?


I'm not just talking about changing... this is kinda in response to the Development Diary that was released. That kind of name changing...

I probably would, since it's just changing name other people see, not your actual username. I'm not sure what yet, but I'd change it to something without a number.

So... the update doesn't change what you log on with? What about the friends list? How would it work? It means I could, in theory, reserve two names... Psychoboy8 as my username and 3mptylord as my screen name. Unless the screen name isn't unique... *shrugs*

Both are unique, you log in with username, but no two people can have teh same screen name...

I probably wouldn't change mine, although it might be nice to take back my old accounts name (it got hacked) "Lord Avorian" I've grown to attached to this one

So... you are reserving two? So that doubles the amount that aren't available, in effect (although not everyone will change theirs). I think it should be mandatory to have numbers in the log-on ID, but it's not for the Screen Name. So I could be Psychoboy8 for the log-on, and just Psychoboy in game (but that's taken, of course). It means that most names would be free in game, and the unique log-in ID can be the same but just with a few numbers for security. It doesn't look nice to have numbers, so put them where they can't be scene.

I'd try and change mine to TATORZ or Red Panda...

Unless log-in and screen name are in two completely different banks. In other words... Psychoboy8 (log-in) could be a completely different character to the Psychoboy8 running around the game. But that would be confusing.

There's lots of games that work with a log-in name different from the actual username...

Why would it be gone?

Okay, for World of Warcraft your log-in is entirely indifferent. However, you cannot use numbers when creating a character and every server has a unique name list.

So... I think my log-in is Psychoboy8 and one of my characters is called Dolkio. My mate has a character called Quaven and when he looked it up there were four or five other Quaven's in dfifferent servers. Now, the difference is, we can switch servers freely. So those five Quaven's would need different names. Okay, that's a burden. Anyway. The reason it would be confusing is that we're already used to it, no other reason. I'm sure we'd get over it quickly. I just think I'd find it weird if I changed my name to 3mptylord and then someone took Psychoboy8... not only could I never change back, but people know me by that name and now this random person has it.

What if i want numbers in my name?
