Zoanthropy - Group Project!™ Empty Zoanthropy - Group Project!™

Post by The Empty Lord Thu Jun 04, 2009 10:11 am

It's time to get some sort of Project of the Month™️ back up and running! Wink

I've decided that it's about time I finish something, and by "I" I mean all of you! Tongue

Zoanthropy! I suggest you take a gander at the Archaeology thread, as that is the standard we should aim for! They general concept for our version of the commonly suggestion transformation skill is one that doesn't use potions, or pouches. Instead, you must capture spirits and allow them to posses you! But where we go in terms of creature is up to you guys! In World of Warcraft they have only a few beasts - bear-form, aqua-form, cat-form, etc. It's not like summoning with a big list. A thread on the forums has something similar, he has very few types of beast, and instead has it that levelling unlocks further abilities with a small selection of creatures. The two methods each have their pros and cons, few creatures mean players can easily pick out favourites and develop good tactics - a Summoning-style system means there is lots of variety, but usually the higher-levelled ones are better meaning all the earlier levels are almost wasted. I vote for a handful of creatures, but that's just me. Smile

Oh, and is anyone good at drawing simple?

I know this would be hard but I vote for both, we will create a big list...lower monsters will over-all get more abilities they can unlock...lower monsters will be more of a strategic type creature, where as the big guns will be limited but powerful.

Few, but useful creatures I agree, no useless ones. Also couldn't we use Zoanthropy for creating weapons also? Not only transforming?

How would one go about creating weapons? *ponders*

Dark, by "both" you can't seriously mean the same quantity as Summoning? The thread on the forum has, I think, 5 categories each with 4 beasts - so that's 20. Tongue

Let's say we have a steel claw. Somehow we take our bear spirit and fuses it with the steel claw. Now we have a degradable, rather strong weapon.

Or something like that...

Interesting concept but I prefer just straight transformation and unlocking transformed abilities

I think we should only make as many numans as we can find uses for.

For example, we could make at least one for most skills... probably several for combat styles... There could be multiple fishing ones, multiple hunting ones... then we could have ones with combined abilities, special attacks, ect...

I think we need a vessel and bait. It just works nicely. I like having armors, too, though.

Yes spirit-infused weapons. Of course they would be a minor part.

Both numen and infused weapon would disapear once degraded.

those look good.

To bizar for dragon-form?

Search one google for "Flame Wing Man" Can't upload.

Originally I thought it to be the Mahjarrat Elvarg, commander of the flying fortress of Crandor. No wonder that one got scrapped.

I thought all players could paste pictures into their messages;

Okay, you can't right-click "copy" and "paste". For some reason you can only paste pictures is if you highlight and copy it with a bit of text. Wink

Unless you click on the "image" button and it displays a hyperlink field, paste the image location in that. Tongue

Anyway, that the "Flame Wing Man" you meant? Wink

That would come under a were-tranformation, I need to update the first post on that. Tongue
