I'm just getting f****** sick of this...
For over two years I have tried writing this book, and I can never find the bloody time to do it. Already the sequel to the book I was going to continue has been written, I quit playing a long time ago after I became bored of playing RPGs and had no time to properly enjoy them.
Jagex have gotten impatient, so I decided to close the deal with the following reasons.
1. I don't play RuneScape anymore, only playing for brief periods between months because that is ALL the time I have, so writing for a game I no longer play would be appropriate.
2. My psychological health in under too many stresses at the moment with all the current situations. I'm too tired, I'm in debt, I can't hold down a proper job and the world has just turned to shit.
3. Arzonus is just plain f***** up! I cannot think of anything to write, I've effectively used up three f****** years of my life writing the crap and now it's become a neuroses.
4. The genre has become too cliche. Everyone uses werewolves, everyone uses abilities, everyone uses nether creatures, it's just copying every other piece of work I have seen. Since the work that some elements are derived from are commercial failures, this probably is the biggest one of all.

IT WAS ALL A LIE! I WAS TRYING TO MAKE MYSELF FEEL BETTER!

Okay, well this is a little surprising to see (although most've the people on here who I privately talk to have long ago figured out that you didn't actually have a deal), although it's good to see that you are able to get this out there. In some ways I think you were a little too "stuck on" Arzonus and it was dampening your greater creative potential. Now I'd just like to object to your last point.
So. f*cking. What?
Who the f*ck cares if it's cliche, it's your genre, it's your passion. Art will never be original in this day and age when there is such an inundation of it in the marketplace. What makes art good is not how wierd and quirky the details are, it's how well you craft them, it's the unique lens you take on them. Nether beings, well of course people have already used that, why should that stop you? Werewolves, yeah, one of the most popular categories of monster has been used before...so what, big news, you have your own spin, your own craft your own voice.
I hope that helps. I really sincerely do.

Fist of all, take a quick breath and calm down a little. Venting in such a manner does no favours. Believe me, I know.
I can understand your stress, I've felt very much the same, countless times. But if unnease and contempt of your work is what's getting you down, there's something you must remember:
Remember when Arzonus was on the forums? I've said it before, but it was the most aclaimed story anyone had posted. I think I can say it remains so today.
So much support can only mean there was something grand in there. Elements are used time and time again in every fantasy work, one way or another. It's how you use something that counts, not what.
Also, getting annoyed at jagex's lack of interest is just silly. They've never taken a proper interest in anyone's suggestions, as far as I've seen. Pay it no mind.
Also, and I'd say this is just common sense, but if your book has been in the works for so long, there's surely no reason not to finish it and take your chance. Better for it to get out there and have a shot than for it to fall before taking a single step.
Writing is a terribly fearful thing when trying it professionally for the first time, I'm discovering that too. But every author feels the same. You've got to face your doubts heard on and give what you've got. You can't let fear and stress overcome you. I, personally, think you've got a good chance, Morbius.
There's differences of opinion on this site from time to time, but your creative talents are set in stone. You know we're all behind you, so hang in there.

Re: I'm just getting f****** sick of this...
I really don't know what to tell you Morbius. I really don't. I understand your frustration. I just don't understand why you think that we don't care whether or not you stop writing. I really think that you are a very good writer, and my opinion won't be changed by anything anyone does. This will likely sound cliched, but I think that you shouldn't give up. Just because there are a lot of bad works dealing with werewolves, doesn't mean that yours must suffer the same fate. After Twilight, I think that anything that can possibly redeem werewolves is a herculean feat. I think that you can accomplish that. You aren't a failure. If you don't want to continue, that's your decision to make. You've already contributed an amazing work, and that is enough for me, and it should be enough for everyone else here. There is no emoticon for encouragement, but I will express my encouragement to you by words. Please, just remember that your work has paid off. You have made people happy.

Well, I'm not quite sure what to say... But, maybe you should let Arzonus be Arzonus for a while, and then focus on something you WANT to do. In my (limited) experience, HAVING to do something just kills it, it always gets better if you WANT to write it
Also, please don't give up art, you have a sufficiently psychotic mind to be a great artist

Re: I'm just getting f****** sick of this...
I just need some time to mull it over. I'm reading the Changeling series at the moment, so I'll wait till I finish reading the book I am currently on before trying so more.
And I think I finally worked it out, why they are so powerful and what the Arzonusii are for. The Arzonusii were given their strength, their wisdom and their power so that they could take on one of the greatest burdens that the Gods could no longer personally attend to.
Without the constant care of the Gods, the world was susceptible to beings from beyond the great rifts. As portals to other worlds were ripped open, faultlines and ripples formed across the world. The Arzonusii were contacted by a non-corporeal form, the being that once owned the Heart, and instructed that it would grant them all it could, in exchange for the protection of this world. In the task, they were to be unbiased towards any religion, simply to the world and maintaining it.
Nothing could be done to ensure that nothing could ever slip through, otherwise the world would be empty and cold, but the malicious beings couldn't be permitted access or the world would be destroyed. They are the frontline defence for the worst that the universe would offer, the likes of the Wrao and the other monsters that slipped through the barriers between worlds; the Nightmare and its brethren being the worst.
A supernatural adaptation, for a supernatural threat.
