Are we too comfortable?
Are we too comfortable?
I feel nostalgia for the days when I couldn't wear Rune, wear Dragon. I feel longing for the days when I had to ask "Where?" when someone wanted to meet up. I always suggest and promote high-levelled content but now it's happening I suddenly feel the moral decision wasn't the one I wanted. But is that only because I had got too comfortable with being static? Would I actually appreciate a massive overhaul, or was it just an ideal that I liked because I secretly thought it would never happen. The concept of a larger map is something I really want, but I always felt intimidated by World of Warcraft; big, empty. What about you? Are we too comfortable?
Re: Are we too comfortable?
Definitely. I'd love for runescape to actually be an adventure...right now I know exactly where everything is...everything...

The problem is that, as suggesters, it's practically a requirement for us to know every single aspect of the game. For a casual player, the sense of mystery and danger can be preserved for years, depending on how long they play each day! I think that it's just a natural thing for the danger to disappear, not only as you get to be a higher level but also because of our own personal natures and how we must know absolutely everything about Runescape.

I lack the feeling of adventure. Even when I start a new account, i know where things are, what to avoid, how to make money. I don't want to go to Godwars, I don't lack adrenaline, and I know what is down there anyway.

See, I somewhat agree with Jeeves. But knowing is my biggest nostalgia - I more dislike that I don't feel the need to train. Jublex took too long to bump the quest requirements, I had already lost interest. I'm a lost cause now. But once I got to level 60 Defence I didn't see any point in levelling, same with other skills. I only raised a lot to 70 because I felt it was a respectable level, and that was the then-high level. But there's still really no point for me to train other than quests. It's more for saving the next generation.

I like knowing, I'm a suggester!
But as a player of an RPG I hate the feeling that I've "completed the game". But yeah, I'm a lost cause now. By the time the game became uncompleted (for me), I had no real desire to complete it any more.

I used to have that mentality. I just procrastinate too much these days - college work, my quest suggestions, etc.
Wow, MMG actually said shitz? Was it on RuneScape or there off-site feeds like Twitter?
