No, he said he hasn't quit on Arzonus. He didn't confirm either way whether he has or has not quit the deal.

I typed "Cheyenne Silver" into Google to see what came up and...

The first option to come up was a blog made by a prostitute who uses the alias of Cheyenne Silver.

The Nightmare's military arrangement;

1. Night mutants - derived from primitive creatures, like vermin or marsupials that have been converted using dark energy. They are simply driven to hostile actions, but it has been seen that these monsters are in no way driven by the Nightmare.

2. Primordials - simplistic creatures made from antimatter that exist for simplistic purposes of combat, rather than function as labourers. Simply adopting avian, quadrapedal, golem and wyrm forms to attack targets. Easily controllable as discovered by many as their nervous system is very basic.

3. Snide - probably the only solid proof that there is life inside the Torn Realm. The snide are a pack race, very strong and have some means of a pecking order in their own numbers. Surprisingly, one cell deriving from them indicates that they may not be entirely native to the Torn Realm, and that they could have once been assimilated by the Nightmare eons ago.

4. Oni - A species of creatures that can acquire the form of a variety of personal devils, from grudges, resentments and fears. They seem to be related to common demons in the way that they can be cited, but the two races are incompatible.

5. Night shades - spirits forged from the last breath taken by an unfortunate victim who dies in their sleep. Their wraith-like countenance makes them frightening to behold, with few means of exorcising them. They appear to be driven not by sight or sound, but by soul and can sense living presences. They will usually ignore smaller creatures, and usually only attack beings like humans or werewolves, but can be deterred by spectral strength; bravery, faith and hope are the bane for these monsters.

6. Shadow Apprentices - an order founded by those that wish to pursue a darker cause, either by choice or by force. Whilst the higher ranking officials consist of those with desires of darkness, the lower subordinates that make up the numbers have purged auras, suggesting some kind of conversion process may be at work.

Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves - Page 2 Empty Theta's Hand

Post by MorbiusMonster Thu Apr 14, 2011 7:47 am

Original sketches of Theta Magnus were decided that Theta would feature a three fingered mechanical hand similar to those used in the Ratchet and Clank universe.

This quickly was substituted for a four fingered hand used by Davros, clawlike and metallic.

Now I have decided this as a decent model for Theta's mechanical arm.

https://i.servimg.com/u/f29/15/39/20/99/steamp10.jpg

Beneath the main body of the arm is a metal skeleton of the hand and forearm crafted from enchanted silver/spirit metal alloy to give it a proper living feel and easier to control, with the raw nerve endings attached to the endoskeleton.

Haha, saying it's a model isn't really the best choice of words. As a native English speaker I understood it in two ways, so I don't blame Dusk for being confused.

"Model" is an something to model on, and "model" as in a prototype you've modeled/made. Given you were talking about concept mock-ups and design, the latter is perhaps just as logical. Although you did say "I decided"... m'yeah, give the poor non-English speaker a chance. Tongue

Nice source of inspiration though, looks cool. Tongue

Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves - Page 2 Empty Juna's Remarks

Post by MorbiusMonster Thu Aug 04, 2011 6:24 am

After completing a few quests, players can tell stories of their adventures to Juna, as many of us well know. These are the tales players can tell to Juna once their respective quests have been completed.

Wolf's Pet
Player; "And so I was given the right to visit Arzonus as I please."

Juna; "This Master Maelstrom sounds intruiging, but remember, people within his fields of study can be notably dangerous, so it would be wise not to grow too attached."

Winds of Kusanagi
Player; "And so I rebuilt the shrine for the sword of Kusanagi."

Juna; "You seem to describe this sword as if it had a will of its own."

Player; "I don't know much about that. The spirit merely hinted that it is as free as the wind and only the right people can wield it."

5000 Below
Player; "I was able to defeat Surok, but the energy continued to grow menacingly."

First Invasion
Player; Our efforts protected the city, but the Superior One escaped."

Juna; "The Wrao are a dangerous threat to the balance of this world, it is good to see their equal and opposite is poised to stop them."

Strife of Saranthium
Player; "So it turns out that it was I who caused the destruction of Saranthium."

Juna; "Time travel is dangerous if not used correctly, you were just lucky to have travelled to an event already set in stone and set it in motion."

Aid of Arzonus
Player; "And Donicus Whitearrow was able to set up connections with the Myreque to strengthen the Arzonus relief effort."

Herbicide
Player; And so the Rose Petal institute was restored to the normal tranquil it was meant to be."

Vengeance will be Mine
Player; "And so Orala was arrested and all of the miners and archaeologists had come to the conclusions they all wanted."

Juna; "Orala..."

Temporal Trekking;
Player; "And so Morbius was given the sword to mark his adulthood."

Juna; "Morbius had better be sure not to make the same mistakes that caused the sword to be confiscated in the first place. To wield such a weapon requires maturity and responsibility."

Mark of Magnus;
Player; "Theta Magnus escaped, though I still plan to hunt him down!"

Juna; "It would be unwise to make an enemy of such a dangerous being."

Player; "But he killed so many people in his bid for power!"

Juna; "You see the story from only one chapter, his tale still has many more to tell, his purposes are yet to be known."

Nighttime Over Lupine;
Player; "And so Lupine was freed as the Nightmare was defeated."

Juna; "Between the idea and the reality; between the motion and the act, falls the Shadow.

Between the conception and the creation; between the emotion and the response, falls the Shadow.

Between the desire and the spasm; between the potency and the existence; between the essence and the descent, falls the Shadow.

Player; "Umm... Juna?"

Juna; "This Nightmare eludes my knowledge, but the tears tell of something that fits your description of the Nightmare. Something wicked this way comes."

Truth and Law
Player; "The city was saved, but Tandoca's life was taken."

Juna; "Sorrowsome is death, but rest assured that her actions alongside yours saved the lives of countless, and brought awareness to what was otherwise ignorant."

A few more forthcoming...

Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves - Page 2 Empty Re: Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves

Post by MorbiusMonster Mon Oct 10, 2011 6:52 pm

During the time of the God Wars, some of those that led armies into battle were not always seeking tactical advantage, but sometimes sought material gain. Vast sums of wealth would end up crossing many hands across the course of the battle either as plundered loot or means of protection. Some syndacates offered means that allowed the safe transfer of treasure for quite extensive fees. These transfers usually took place across the sea, where the gods didn't fight.

It was from this that the earlier pirates came into being, ravaging ships setting out to protect the money from the potential of falling into enemy armies hands. One such pirate was Kharshai, captain of the Eternal Scourge. Few escaped the seiges set upon them by him alive.

Kharshai plundered all his vast sums of wealth, until he was set upon by a ship that resisted all his cannon fire. His ship was sunk and he was captured and sealed inside one of the Pandoran Boxes. In addition to his crimes as a pirate, news hade made out that he was also working for a dark lord, by using the stolen treasure to rally others and eliminating all contest for some of the rarest object this world ever knew.

Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves - Page 2 Empty Giovanni Magnus - A Summary

Post by MorbiusMonster Fri Oct 21, 2011 5:29 am

Giovanni Magnus was born 29th Wintumber in Year 116 of the Fifth Age, on a day that is well known as Christmas Eve to the human world. His mother, Lyra Magnus, was forced to give birth on Fugitive Island when her returning vessel had been postponed due to vicious storms at sea, making Giovanni supposedly the first wolf cub born on the island. His distinctive red markings and black coat made the infant wolf well rumoured amongst the residents, a lot of whom were former Shadow Apprentices as so often believed the red and black colouration to be something of prophecy.

Giovanni began tutelage at the age of four years. It was quickly observed that unlike the other wolf cubs, he preferred to be alone most of the time, even the company of familiars didn't enter his ideal space. Of all the cubs in the tutelage pack, he was considered the quickest learner and by far the most intelligent, earning him enormous interest from the others. Many suspected that his preference for working alone meant he had the aura element of Shadow.

Upon Giovanni's 9th birthday, he was able to become a biped werewolf. His progress was considered fairly average for werewolves from Arzonus. On being able to support his stature on just two feet, his choices of clothing showed that he had an obvious preference for stylish black clothing. It was at this stage that his Senntisten ability began to emerge, enhanced muscle capability. However, due to his earlier ability emerging so early on in his growth, he was often finding himself confined to crutches due to muscle fatigue. Once he had reached the next stage of tutelage, he was able to walk without such supports when ability inhibitors were fitted to prevent the fatigue becoming so great.

Giovanni, like most of his ancestry, was something a strong fighter, proficient in all forms of combat. It was decided quite early on that he wanted to become one of the masters in the council and focussed his studies on all the latest theories. He formed good friends with Maya Sigma, a new arrival in the city who was roughly one and a half years older than he was. He quickly developed a small circle of friends when it came closer to his graduation, most notably Maya Sigma, Terra Maelstrom (who at the time was also a non-native resident), Donicus Whitearrow and a young human hunter cub named Fang.

At the age of thirteen, it was established finally that his aura was Shadow. It was at this stage that when summoning familiars, he expressed complication with his relationship with them. The familiars, regardless of how strong or capable they were, were incredibly frightened of him and sometimes would be despondant to his commands. Master Maelstrom sought it ideal to address the issue personally and forged a very good bond with the child, giving him the strongest referral for a Novice position under his guidance.

At fourteen, Giovanni Magnus became a Novice under Master Maelstrom and studied the areas of summoning. It became difficult to perform his work if familiars became too frightened to work with him, so Giovanni tried an unorthodox summoning practise to try and use familiars. The practise worked with a positive conclusion, Giovanni Magnus was capable of both summoning and commanding the loyalty of the lesser-used Dark familiars. Normally such temperamental creatures were unruly without the right focus, but Giovanni gained their support almost instantly.

At fifteen, Giovanni's secondary ability began to manifest; the ability to absorb fear and convert it into energy. At this time, a lot of Giovanni's peers began to try and keep their distance when it became established that he might be very dangerous. Upon graduation, Master Maelstrom became all the more interested in studying Giovanni's ability and spent a lot more time with him, making him somewhat envied by the other novices. At this stage, Giovanni had fallen for another novice working under a different master. Lakota Silver was slowly losing her sight and Giovanni formed a strong relationship with her, helping her overcome her blindness. They remained close partners until much later on.

On Giovanni's sixteenth birthday, his ability to earn the control over Dark familiars secured him a position as an apprentice under Master Maelstrom, alongside Maya Sigma. It was at this time that Giovanni was approached by a shady figure calling himself Mesophiles. Mesophiles stated that he wanted to know more about Giovanni and so, not suspecting anything unjust, went along with Mesophiles. A short while afterwards, Giovanni had disappeared, along with other members of his peerage. A great search was initiated for a long time, but the children couldn't be found.

Three months later, the Militia were tipped off about an illegal operation working inside the Arzonus perimeter. The militia attacked the underground base of a new cult of Shadow Apprentices, all of which determined to believe that Giovanni Magnus was a new incarnation of their lord, the Nightmare. Giovanni was recovered in the assault, but also the grim truth about what happened to the other children was made obvious; the Shadow Apprentices had forced Giovanni to kill them, under strong mental influence from Mesophiles, who was leading the growing cult. Mesophiles had wiped Giovanni's memory of the events, allowing him to continue.

Giovanni began to suffer fierce repression as a result of the involuntary actions that happened in the Shadow Apprentices. It was at this point, one of Giovanni's relatives came to his aid; Theta Magnus. Theta, having been trained and able to manipulate the minds of the weak, began to teach his great grandson the acquired ability of occlumency, allowing him to shield his mind from access and influence from the likes of magicks used by the Shadow Apprentices. Giovanni showed quick retention of the ability and this allowed him to carry on better with his work as an Apprentice.

At seventeen, Giovanni Magnus was considered a very strong choice for Masterhood, at one stage surpassing Maya's skill. At this stage, Giovanni had become far more shadowing that he used to be, often blocking out most attempts for others trying to befriend him. When a small cub, named Fang, had run from the hunter's mountain to the wilderness by himself, Giovanni opted to go alone to find the child and his mother, against militia protocol. He managed to save the cub, but was ambushed by Mesophiles. Whilst fighting Mesophiles, he lost control of his power, which was combined from his own rage and Fang's fear, resulting in his inability to save Silverwind Acuity, the cub's mother, from being killed at the hands of another Shadow Apprentice. He blamed himself for the incident.

A few months later, Giovanni began researching into how his ability could be used on a basis that allowed others to use it as personal protection. His heart wasn't entirely fixed on the project and began to consider resigning the post as an apprentice when his personal grief and the accident record of the project began taking his toll. On what was going to be the final experiment of the project, before ordering it to be discontinued, the project's safety precautions failed with dramatic consequences. The exact happenings haven't been confirmed as he was the only eye-witness, but his report states that a being, most believed to be the Nightmare, tried to force itself into a corporeal being using the product of the experiments. Having only been limited to the physical restrictions of Giovanni's body, the monster was thankfully destroyed before leaving the facility. Giovanni was the only survivor of the disaster.

A few weeks later, Giovanni began suffering repeated nightmares of the incident and those before it. He then resigned from his commission as an apprentice, much to the disappointment of Master Maelstrom, who considered Giovanni as someone of true potential, but understandingly accepted. Giovanni then began to go downhill from this stage, suffering constant mental attacks and sessions where he'd end up just collapsing to the ground and screaming or crying. Despite attempts to help him, Giovanni was close to losing the will to live.

The last witness report of Giovanni was from a wolf sitting out at the dock, noticing a small boat being taken out to sea. Giovanni was reported missing soon after and the search for him or his body began. Fearing he had actually committed suicide, Giovanni's parents began accusing the militia of withholding information. After personally being assaulted by Giovanni's father, Mortimer, Mentor Libra had the two of them banished for misconduct. Lyra served her term on Fugitive Island whilst Mortimer retreated to the Kharidian desert. Shortly after, Giovanni's parents filed for divorce when they began to argue over the fate of their only son.

Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves - Page 2 Empty Re: Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves

Post by MorbiusMonster Mon Apr 09, 2012 6:27 am

Anyway, I will uploading Revenantly Harmless in due time. But there have to be some crucial updates.

The base will remain at the Graveyard of Shadows, because that is the site of the original funeral site of the Zarosian empire.

Instead of starting in the Wilderness, the player now starts near Edgeville where a werewolf is busy minding his own business by a poster advertising help needed. He can send you there once you sign up.

Part of the quest involved rebuilding the base. However, this now only involves rebuilding an outpost near the Forinthry Dungeon. This means a convenient rest stop is available in the Wilderness before approaching the dungeon.

Wearing Jennica's ring prevents Revenant remains from appearing as is explained by the scientists. The ring has the power to extract from the remains some element of mortal compensation, i.e. the object they were fighting for, whilst destroying the remains in the process. Burning the remains at Carralangar will instead yield different and equally valuable rewards and also give you a chance of rare and exclusive treats. The only main difference is that wielding Jennica's ring allows the reward to be instantaneous, but burning the remains will give extra prayer experience and offer a chance at finding objects like God Book pages.

The story behind the revenants will be added onto.

I like the premise of the quest, I don't think a werewolf is necessary. Maybe someone who has a family member buried there?

This doesn't seem to be related with Arzonus, but good idea. I just think that this can operate independently.

Theta Magnus was born 14th Raktuber of Year 1992 of the Fourth Age. He was the eldest of five siblings and had to care for the younger two, born when he was roughly 20. His parents were opium addicts and were unable to give him much guidance whilst he grew up in the poorer area of Lycosa.

Theta had a firm dislike of humans a great deal of the time when human traders (now allowed into Arzonus for rune trading) began smuggling products like opium into the market and considered it their fault for supplying it to his parents, whom he also blames for being foolish enough for taking it. A great deal of the time, Theta thought very little of his parents and usually worked away from them, raising his deprived family with his tough-love approach.

He applied for the Master's Tuition in order to be able to raise his younger siblings whilst his parents continued to use up most of what little money the family had on opium. At this time of history, it was notably hard for outer colonies, particularly from poorer ones, to work their way to masterhood, but Theta shone through until the choosing of the Apprentices.

The masters presiding over Combat at the time were largely from Latranz and so decided the best method of picking an apprentice was to eliminate them in survival contests. Theta was forced into the conflict, but gained few followers during the run of the contest and practically no support. Even severely disadvantaged in such a way, Theta was by far the best competitor and was most promising, but his parent's opium addiction kept him from gaining followings, as some human betters kept blocking any assistance getting through.

In the final days of the contest, Theta was badly wounded and needed to be offered assistance urgently if he was to survive. One sponsor came forward and offered up a generous sum so she could send medicine to Theta. It was thanks to this one sponsor that Theta managed to outlive the other fighter and was declared the new apprentice. A few days later, he married his sponsor.

Theta Magnus then was recognised in the contest as;

"The fiercest fighter who never killed a single enemy."

Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves - Page 2 Empty Re: Re: Arzonus, the City of Werewolves

Post by MorbiusMonster Tue Apr 24, 2012 6:28 pm

After reviewing Wolven Traditions, I am going to modify it.

Previously, you only had to speak to the Masters to get the skills, but I've decided that instead of just talking to them, players will be shown a memory of the clans the Masters describe. During each, the players must fulfil a task related to what the Masters explain about the werewolves.

Padewwan werewolves were artisans. The crafts they made were particularly useful as they could be animated and used in combat, a very crude form of summoning. The player has to withstand a volley of attacks and build the statues to repair a barrier from the Wyverns.

Ghorrok werewolves were skilled mages and founded some of the new Arzonus spells. During the memory, the player has to fight in the early mage arena and come to terms with the spells. They also have to use specific spells in order to fully utilise their power.

Carralangar werewolves were the mourners of the empire. In this memory, you have to prepare the burial mounds and calm an enraged spirit in order to cremate the remains properly. You also have to make sure you don't speak directly, only through telepathy.

Kharyll was the werewolf capital and where the werewolf uprising began. Master Seeker will teach you about aura and define yours with a particular test. During the memory, set during the uprising, you have to fight vampyres trying to quell the resistance. Using aura, defeat the vampyres (unlike their modern counterparts, these vampyres were particularly weak to aura).

The process of allowing you to relive memories from the Heart is a tricky one. You cannot leave the confines of the memory and should you perish inside the memory when you shouldn't, the Heart will sense someone tampering too much and can make the wounds you sustain real. In other words, die in the memory, die outside of it. In the memory, prayer cannot be used, but supplies are available.
