RE: Reprisal FAQ

Will we able to use extreme potions in the Wilderness?

No. However, a player with an “extreme” boost who enters the wilderness will have the boost reduced to “super” level. This duplicates the current function on PvP worlds.

Say whut? Then what is the point in them? You can't sell them, you can't use them in any scenarios that would warrant buying/selling anyway...

What about all the quests that are in the Wilderness? Will these be left where they are or moved?

No player doing a quest will ever be under the threat of being killed by another player. Quests will exist in areas of the wilderness but these areas cannot be used for pking.

Post quest rewards like the beacon network and spirit of summer portals will remain in the wilderness, with some gaining extra rewards to compensate for the extra risk. Players who already have the original reward can return to collect the “bonus” we have added.

Again, WHAT?! The issue with them isn't the quester being safe, it's safe-zones for PKing victims. So you're in deep wilderness on the run... who cares about getting to level 20, just run into Summer's Farm! Or into the nearest portal. At least in my idea for the Spirit Realm expansion the portals have a timer - similar to the Lumby teleport.

In the original wilderness there used to be a tactic of attacking a monster and deliberately trying not to kill it in order to escape from a pker. You changed it for PvP worlds. Are you bringing that back?

That tactic has been removed. Any player attacking a monster in the wilderness can be attacked by another player, even if you are in single way combat.

And what about the people actually killing monsters? Surely they could just add some sort of timer like "You cannot attack a monster whilst in battle with a player" for 10 seconds after combat?

The big difference is that you cannot tell before combat whether a person can use extreme potions or not.

That's one thing that's always bugged me about Jagex's attitude. It's the same with Summoning, and how it's excluded from the combat level. None of these advantages are exclusive... ANY PLAYER can have them if they earn them. It's no different to having a strong weapon that you cannot see - having 70 Attack shows up in the combat level, but not if you have Barrows, Godswords, etc, or if you're still using level 60 Dragon.

If all good things come to an end then we're living in a world where evil wins.

If there once was love then maybe something survived. If we find a single diamond in the rough then it's worth it. Through a thousand tears if there's one drop of love then it's worth it.

My problem with this new idea is that it just may not work. An enormous number of players were lost when the Wilderness was altered, and that was a few years ago. If they've not returned since, they aren't returning at all.

The new adaptations built new Wilderness communities; Bounty Hunters, Clan War fanatics, Creation Stealers and Revenant Hunters. If those activities are removed by the Wilderness being reverted to previous settings, a large community will be dismantled. They might allocate a few worlds to "Original Wilderness" mode and some to Revenants, but that might be confusing.

And what of the scammers and Real World Traders. While some saw the loss of free trading as a let down and quit, others have chosen to sit it out and wait for the right chance, and now they have it. Once they are alerted to it, they'll tell other Real World Traders and the whole corrupt system will be brought back again.

In my opinion, the Wilderness needn't be returned to the way it was. PVP was restored on a world wide scale, with the Wilderness being a hot spot (I can still remember how people still kept saying that PVP was Pking, some people just don't understand synonyms). The trading system that was designed where quest points awarded players more freedom with trading was very effective, the player has taken the time to earn their ability to trade freely, and players who've earnt the ability to trade freely (I don't mean to sound prejudice here) won't compromise their labour by cheating.

There is no need to really restore things to the way they once were, they have improved drastically in my opinion with other changes. If people are too short sighted to look around the original problem and adapt, then that is their loss.

At least clan wars and SC will still be there. PVP is not PKing because of teh drops system. Even a high level didn't have much freedom when trading in bulk. High and low levels will cheat.

PvP was an awful and horrible scar they way it functioned and operated. I'm glad with how they're bringing it back, personally. And Morb I think you're underestimating the return of people there.
