PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission

I don't know how, but this suddenly turned up at random. Hear me out though.

In the previous PokePark game, Pikachu made friends with every Pokemon in PokePark, and stopped the Sky Pavillion from falling by brining back the pieces of the Sky Prism. Some time later, the PokePark has become a different place; new Pokemon have come, but new problems are emerging. Across the park, strange things are happening and monsters unlike anything any Pokemon has seen before have come causing havoc for the residents of the PokePark, some of the stronger Pokemon have begun to divide the park unfairly with some becoming bullies and there are pirates all over the seas stopping Pokemon from visiting any of the islands.

Only one Pokemon and his friends can be able to help restore friendship to the PokePark once again and save it from the monster maker. That one Pokemon is none other than Pikachu.

Sequelling the game, PokePark Wii - Pikachu's Adventure, PokePark Wii 2 goes further with all new puzzles, all new challenges and all new characters and gameplay. Allow to tell you more.

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty What has happened since the PokePark was reopened?

Post by MorbiusMonster Mon Jan 03, 2011 8:10 am

Since Pikachu saved the park previously, more Pokemon have arrived to join in, like those from the Unova region. Some of them have taken on the roles of pseudo-leaders and have constructed towering cities, most notably a sagely figure known as Honchkrow. The initial park has now expanded further out to sea and onto more islands.

But not all changes have been good. Some Pokemon have come to the decision that access across the sea shouldn't be as free as it once was as it causes a lot of disturbances, while some have come to stop these tolls coming into work. Now, pirates occupy the sea, governed by a Captain Kirikizan and his first mate Mawile, and stopping Pokemon from crossing the sea. This caused a lot of ruckus, as ocean living Pokemon have been driven inland to avoid the pirates and Pokemon can't make their way across safely to run the park.

One of the cities, Black Night City has become overridden with monsters coming from nowhere, and is frequently full of bad Pokemon leading to mob rule, because Honchkrow has sealed herself away in these troubling times. Notorious mobster is Weavile, and her three henchmen, Rhyperior, Magmortar and Electivire, who just live to cause trouble at the moment. The Pokemon who are considered weak can't get along in the city, and the world is in a troubled state.

However, help is at hand, but this may be a bigger undertaking than even Pikachu can do. However, this time round, he has a little more help. The player can now play as his friends from the previous game, Chikorita, Charmander and Piplup to help mend this messy world. Also joining in are the streetwise Zorua and the determined Riolu, who want nothing more than for the park to be the way it used to be.

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty List of important characters

Post by MorbiusMonster Mon Jan 03, 2011 8:33 am

Riolu - An original visitor to the PokePark, Riolu is a brave and strong Pokemon, aspiring to be like his hero brother Lucario. In these troubling times, he is determined to remain strong, knowing that someone can hopefully bring peace back. The headfirst approach is usually his favourite, making him slightly impetuous.

Zorua - A newcomer to the PokePark, but has ended up stuck in the city by mob law. However, spending his time well in the city and using his ability of illusions has helped to learn how the city works and how to get by in the new PokePark. He wants to help in any way he can, but enjoys nothing more than planning a good strategy leading him to be more passive at times.

Honchkrow - Honchkrow was once the head honcho around the Black Night City, until the monsters showed up. When it became obvious that there wasn't much she could do, after she was defeated by them, she shut herself away in her tower, sending distress calls out hoping someone would find them. The Pokemon have lost hope in her, and so have decided to take the state of the Park into their own hands, making her feel even more heavy hearted. She may be worried, but she is most certainly not a coward.

Weavile - A bit of a bully, but nonetheless a very clever one. She runs one of the largest and most powerful mobs in the city and has built up something of a reputation and frightens the innocent city dwellers with her cruel attitude. She is usually followed by her three "muscles", Magmortar, Electivire and Rhyperior.

Capt. Bisharp - Since travelling the seas became standard and busier, Pokemon of the sea began arguing that it disturbed them too much, whilst others insisted on keeping the sea routes going, chaos broke out. Capt. Bisharp founded the pirates in the chaos to revel in it and to make problems worse, under mysterious instructions. Ironic enough, he can't swim.

Mawile - Mawile is Bisharp's ever so loyal first-mate and always delivers the Sneasel and Pawniard crew orders from their captain. Something however is very strange about him, he doesn't talk very often and has a strange necklace around his neck.

The Monster Maker - A being who no one was ever seen face to face. He spends most of his time, hiding away in an unknown location, tending to his strange machine. It is most likely that whoever this person is, he is fully responsible for all the disasters that have befallen the Pokepark. This person is renowned to have a very cruel heart.

Giratina - The monsters have broken into the land of Shadows and use the Reverse World, Giratina's home as a base of operations, so Giratina is not pleased. Though harsh and frightening, he is in fact fairly friendly and just wants to get rid of the monsters that ruin his home dimension.

??? - A hidden entity which none have ever seen and returned, thus leading to its existence to be thought of as false. For a long time it has manipulated the Pokemon, trying to spell disaster, but for what purpose?

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty Gameplay

Post by MorbiusMonster Tue Jan 04, 2011 2:38 am

The concept of gameplay remains similar to the previous game; Pikachu must rescue the park by making friends with all the Pokemon in the park. To do so, he must complete missions and compete in the games across the park.

Making Friends - Pikachu and his friends can't complete everything on their own, sometimes they have to make new friends to help them out. Friends can be made by talking to Pokemon, doing favours, completing minigames and missions, playing games and battling. Some friends can complete minigames that Pikachu may not be able to do alone, others can invite other Pokemon to the park, while others can help you complete missions and help you save the park.

Minigames - These little skill games utilize the Wii Remote to perform a variety of actions, such as swinging, running, targetting and firing. Old favourites and basic skill games, like Bulbasaur's Daring Dash and Blaziken's Boulder Bash are available to play, in which all characters you have befriended can play. This time round, more minigames are available and more than one player can compete. Completing minigames will award the player berries and occaisionally items. Berries are the currency of the PokePark, and can be used to buy all sorts of items and extras.

Missions - With the park in such chaos, the Pokemon need a hero to stop the wrongdoers and monsters from making such a mess of the place. Some missions may simply consist of reaching certain scores on minigames, finding certain items or rescuing Pokemon, but the main story missions revolve around specially designed levels and locations that exist alongside the hub world. In these levels, the player must attain a goal within the level, using either Pikachu, Charmander, Chikorita, Piplup and later Riolu and Zorua. The levels have certain properties that mean certain Pokemon would do better in them others.
When you complete missions, you are awarded experience and berries depending on how well you perform. Your performance is graded, with E being the lowest, and S being the highest and awards given accordingly. Experience is then used to increase a Pokemon's abilities so it can perform better.
The missions include the following; reaching the goal, finding certain items, defeating a number of monsters or defeating a boss.

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty Collectables

Post by MorbiusMonster Tue Jan 04, 2011 6:25 am

Throughout PokePark are collectable items that prove important on your mission, however some cannot mean anything until more of them have been found.

Berries - Berries are loved by all Pokemon of the PokePark and are considered very valuable. You can collect these by completing minigames, missions or by simply looking around. Some Pokemon covet berries and will trade you all kinds of items for them.

Map pieces - Legend has it that a great sea dwelling Pokemon known as Relicanth once led crusades across the ocean to find new lands and documented down the strange lands she found. This map was once her guide, but now pirates have damaged it over time, the pieces being traded and taken across the lands. Hopefully if a budding pioneer can re-assemble it, the lost lands might be found once more.

Giant clock parts - When PokePark was being built there were plans for a giant clock to be at the centre. Sadly, the inventor passed on and his giant clock was never assembled, leaving but a tower still incomplete to this day. After passing on, no one was able to agree on who should undertake such an honour of building the clock and the parts were all stored away until an agreement could be met. However, it has been decided that it should be undertaken by someone who would guarantee proper care of the clock.

Pokemon eggs - Sometimes, a Pokemon egg can go missing for unknown reasons. These precious little objects emanate a wondrous energy and collecting enough of them can do great things. Once all of the eggs have been retrieved and returned, you'll see what they can really do.

Key items - Throughout the PokePark are key items that you will need to find in order to complete your journey. These items are rewards for missions as well as being simple items being found. When the time is right, you'll know what to do with these.

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty Giant Clock Parts

Post by MorbiusMonster Fri Feb 04, 2011 6:30 am

A while ago, after the Pokepark was saved and the Sky Pavillion protected, an elderly Pokemon came to the park with a vision; to create something that would bring the Pokemon together in wonder.

The Pokemon, Beheeyem, wanted to build a giant clock, a great monument to the union of Pokepark with a tremendous structure that would benefit all. He grouped together other psychic Pokemon so that they could all brainstorm how such a project would come about.

In the earlier stages of the design, Beheeyem worried that the clock would lose accuracy as time would pass, and the clock would fall into disrepair when he had gone. In a dream of his, he spoke to a wise being known as Uxie who told him of a special Pokemon who would help him build the clock, Dialga. Following the path revealed to him in his vision, he visited the Temporal Pokemon's home and asked if Dialga would help him build the clock such that it would be perfectly accurate and could last a long time.

Dialga then gave Beheeyem an enormous rock made of a rare and mysterious mineral, Dialgium, a metal that would precise in its timing for whatever device that was made. Thrilled at this, Beheeyem told the other Pokemon in the council of the clock and he began forging the parts.

A short time passed and Beheeyem discovered something very strange about the Dialgium that Dialga had never mentioned. The metal had the ability to distort time around it, causing time to slip back and forth over a set interval. After doing some calculations, Beheeyem revealed to the council that the combined parts of the clock would shift time by 12 hours back and forth. This was when the problems began.

As news leaked of the clock's components being able to manipulate time, some Pokemon began trying to involve themselves in the project so they could either steal the rare mineral, not realising its worth or try and talk their way into becoming chief operator of the clock so they could control time over the Pokepark. As the final parts were being built, Beheeyem became weaker and then eventually old age began to catch up to him.

When he planned to entrust the project to another Pokemon, he could sense something wrong. He could tell, in each of their minds, that some wanted the run the clock for good, some for evil and others just wanting to make a quick profit. Distraught by what had happened, he used the last of his strength to fend off the evil doers and protect the clock parts for as long as possible.

Trying his hardest, he tried to contact Uxie again for advice as to how the parts could be saved from those who would wish harm upon the park. Instead of Uxie coming to him, another Pokemon appeared; Celebi. Knowing how sensitive time was, she agreed to take the clock parts away and hide them from the Pokemon who would try and abuse them.

When he came to admit that he hid the parts, for the good of the park, the Pokemon who were his friends or tried to pose as them were all shocked. Some tried their best to force him into telling and began to harm him. Knowing his fate, Beheeyem used the last of his power to wipe their memories, so they never even knew about the contruction of the clock and he died.

The clock parts still exist across the Pokepark, hidden for many years. Beheeyem made it clear that he wanted to reserve the clock as the monument to bring the Pokepark together, and so the duty of finding the parts is entrusted to whoever is able to bring it together by real virtues, such as bravery, compassion and friendship. Each clock piece's time distortion effect also managed to store some of Beheeyem's memories in his final days and thus are his legacy.

You can tell when there is a clock part present in an area, if the time in the area is slightly strange, either flowing oddly or appearing in a different time zone. When all the gears are collected, the clock is reassembled and the player will have the ability to change between day and night in the park at will.

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty The Grand Seas

Post by MorbiusMonster Tue May 10, 2011 3:21 am

Trouble brews over the Grand Seas, but it is the only way to reach the Island zones. On most occaisions when travelling across seas, the pirates, led by Captain Bisharp, decide to drop in and launch a plundering assault on passers by who might have some items of untold worth.

On the first occaision, Pikachu faces the pirates with only a small wooden boat sold to him ashore. Since it has no built in defences, you have to make do with what you have.

The Pirate ships use Voltorb as cannonballs on all occasions which do not explode on contact, but have a delay before selfdestructing. In order to dodge these, Pikachu has to use Iron Tail to send them back. Electrode use explosion and will explode the moment they hit the ship so they must be deflected whilst still in the air.

On your first encounter with the pirates, the fleet pulls away and insists in sending in Shiftry to the job. Shiftry's vessel fires Trubbish at Pikachu's small dingy and can be deflected with Iron Tail. Whilst still loading Trubbish into the cannons, Shiftry uses Bullet Seed which isn't avoidable and does light, but rapid damage. Shiftry's main damaging attack is firing a large Garbodor out of the cannon. The Garbodor will Explode if touched and can do heavy damage to the small ship if Pikachu is in the line of fire.

In order to defeat Shiftry one simply has to outsmart him; a deflected Trubbish if hit in the right position can be sent back into Shiftry's face, where he will take damage. If a shot is lucky, it will poison him, slowly wearing away his health or use stench which slows it down.

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty Sawk and Throh's Box Brawl

Post by MorbiusMonster Tue May 10, 2011 4:08 am

One of the minigames to be added to the game is the Box Brawl, courtesy of Sawk and Throh.

In this minigame, the player is placed into an arena to fight against three other opponents, either player controlled or computer controlled. The player has to either be the last Pokemon standing or the one with the most health remaining when time is up.

In order to defeat opponents, the player has to either throw objects at them or knock them off the edge of the arena whilst trying not to be knocked out as well. As explosives are set off, the arena becomes damaged and exposes more gaps. The objects are as follows.

Crates - These wooden boxes deal light damage and may contain something useful.
Rocks - These slightly heavier tools can deal average damage on an opponent.
Bonsly - Rarely occuring, these Pokemon are very heavy, but can do heavy damage.
Voltorb - Highly volatile, Voltorb will try and Selfdestruct when come into contact with. They have a time delay, so either be clear of them before the delay is up or throw them in that time.
Electrode - Far more dangerous, can't even be touched or approached without exploding.

The controls for this game are as follows. You hold the Wii Remote sideways for this game.
1 Button - Jump (press and hold for temporary boosted jump to cross larger gaps)
2 Button - Base attack (stuns enemies and shifts objects slightly)
B Button - Hold to pick up an object.
Swing + Release B Button - Throw held object.

Higher level characters will be able to carry heavier objects much easier, stun for slight damage and jump further. The best character for this game is Tornadus, who is unlocked after completing the game once.

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty Cryogonal's Ice Rink

Post by MorbiusMonster Tue May 10, 2011 4:20 am

Cryogonal's Ice Rink tests a Pokemon's balance and endurance. The aim of the game is to have the most points when time runs out. Points are acquired through nudging other opponents off the rink.

If you knock away chains of opponents without falling off yourself, your score multiplies. This is reset if you fall off yourself. Powerups appear which can help you;
Iron Ball - A heavy object that slows you down, but helps you keep balance.
Amulet Coin - Builds up points quicker, but is lost if you fall off.
Ring Target - If dropped, whoever picks it up will be targetted more by other players (NPC mode), but can be picked up by the player if they drop it.
Life Orb - The player can increase their nudge ability at the cost of their balance.
Power Orb - Player can use their special ability that can either protect them from being thrown off or help in throwing off opponents.

Controls are as follows. The Wii Remote is held sideways:
Tilt Remote - Skate across ice
B Button - Nudge
A Button - Use Powerup

Higher levelled Pokemon in this game have the advantage of a better balance (slighter movements with the Wii remote aren't exaggerated as greatly), stronger nudge and better resistance to nudging. The best Pokemon for this game are Regice and Froslass.

PokePark Wii 2 - Pikachu's Mission Empty The New PokePark

Post by MorbiusMonster Wed May 25, 2011 5:56 pm

Since the previous time Pikachu and his friends visited the park, a lot has changed. The park no longer is just on one island, but now spreads out to four islands.

Spring Island - The island from the original game. It is a rather quiet place featuring the Meadow Zone, the Beach Zone and the Cavern Zone.

Summer Island - South east of Spring Island, Summer Island is warmer, sunnier and much more diverse than the previous island. Since Pikachu left the park, the Granite Zone with the Sky Zone were moved here by Rayquaza, who preferred the slightly warmer air currents in that area. It is also the location of the Factory Zone, the Tropical Zone and the Magma Zone.

Autumn Island - East of Spring Island is Autumn Island. Slightly colder than its neighbour, Autumn Island is named so for the Castle of Fall in the centre of Island, where the leaves are always a wonderful orange colour. The Haunted Zone spirited itself away to this place to find more visitors. Also joining this area are the Arid Zone, the Canyon Zone and the Harbour Zone.

Winter Island - Far north of most of the PokePark, the Winter Island is always under a continual blanket of snow. The Winter Island is in fact the original Iceberg Zone, but has since expanded thanks to the colder weather and become firmly secured by natural rock. Included with this area are the remnants of the original Iceberg Zone, the Sagely Zone and the Tomb Zone.

The Black Night City - In the centre of the islands is the giant city, built by Pokemon long ago. This area has no individual zones by itself, but still plays host to several minigames and missions.

The Giant Clock - Modern charts do not mark a clock on the map, but it still exists. In order to go there, one must find all the missing parts and bring them back to where they belong.

Further development on this idea will discontinue, news have been made known that a future game of PokePark is already in development and due for release in Japan this Winter.

Until an English release becomes available and I give it a play, no further work will be performed on this edition.
