A Balance Ratio Empty A Balance Ratio

Post by Dragon78114 Wed May 30, 2012 5:41 am

I was just playing around with numbers but what strikes me is how no one in the game judges a character on how well he or she balances his or her skills- it usually is always the focus to have max stats and neglect the obnoxious ones. Well, to me that is a little silly and what I try to achieve in skilling is to achieve a good balance in everything.

Well, me playing with numbers I have developed a method that could be used to judge someone on their balancing issues with a little ratio.

A ratio? A ratio of what? It is a ratio of averages.

It should average between your total level and your total exp gained averaged and compared to its nearest level.

So me for instance, I currently have an average total level of 67.12 and an average total exp of 1,039,773, which would be an average level of 73. Thus, I will have a 91.95% difference and what can be determined is that I have a hugely balanced set of stats. However, to make it 100% I would have to make every one of my skills at least level 94 with about 8.7 mil exp.

Suppose a pure decides to make an account. Then his ratio would be over 100% meaning that his/her likes only training a few set of skills, meaning that there is a severe imbalance. This could be a great way to determine if an account is really a pure or not.

I don't know. This is just a thought. Opinions?

Having done endless stats papers over study leave, I'd suggest using variance or standard deviation as the stat to measure balance.

Next, I'd question the purpose of this. Are you to be rewarded for having a low standard deviation (good balance)? If so, how?

well I don't know about the standard deviation part; I've refused to take a stat class at my high school because they are jokes and I dislike endless charts of information.

So how could you use variance and standard deviation to measure balance?

To answer your question, it could be used to judge how well you train your stats and how you train like do you focus more on a certain stat than others? It would just be a quick reference without having to look at someone's stats and determine strategy.

Maybe there could be a separate ratio for how will him or her trains his or her combat skills and a separate one for others, etc.

EDIT: I see how you mean. Never mind. lol Yeah; standard deviation would work.
