Let's rebirth the Suggestion Forum!
First topic message reminder :
To continue from one of Dark Avorian's threads (which I couldn't find) we should rebirth the Suggestions Forum! How hard could it be? We have near to a dozen semi-active members - that's easily enough to repopulate a forum.
Everyone post a stub/snippet of a manageable and realistic suggestions. Then we need merely muster some complete suggestions and post 'em on the RCF! Maybe even have a tag that we use so they're all recognisably ours; [tst]?

I love that song.
I even have a tshirt with it on.
Also - I haven't proposed any ideas, so how is my non-idea correct above no-one else's non-existent ideas.

Why don't we just start out with discussing a smithing fix?

Re: Let's rebirth the Suggestion Forum!
Basically my smithing thread, only instead of each item being made available at level increments; a batch of items. Plus a good system for wear 'n' tear.
Re: Let's rebirth the Suggestion Forum!
The problem is... how do we involve Dungeoneering now? Where that 225's other idea?
Re: Let's rebirth the Suggestion Forum!
...well, that's assuming we give into the peer pressure that we actually need to care about Dungeoneering and have to include. Not that I don't like it, but... why do we actually NEED to include it outside the game. It would be nice to and it does seem like a waste of resources not to... but yeh. :L

I want
those items implemented simply for the sheer amount of new, useful,
things they would add to most skills. Combat gear alone seems like it
could potential balence a lot, more so for magic and range branch of the
system. Not to mention that Smithing, crafting and fletching would
receive items from that.
And on my smithing table, the
orginal idea for 'batches' was pix's.
that all aside, I
really do not think that a smithing thread should be the thread we need
to create....there are 3 main ones, Empty's, Night's (ye old smithy,
something like that) and mine....plus countless others. Not to mention
Jagex seems to already have something planned and all we can do now is
see if any of those threads influenced anything (Its interesting to note
they all suggest some level changes). It might just be a waste to
create one atm....
Constuction, I can support
that....even if they have a planned update, suggestion new rooms or
features still sounds like it could help.
Dungeons needs
improvement, monsters need to be higher leveld/tougher.
The rooms
for it (or new ones) need to be bigger.
Ideas for rooms
Farm
-should
be obvious
--if not a room limit, but a patch limit...such as no
more then 2 herb patches
of course it should look.
(Should work
like farmville instead of patches, in the sense of customizing)
...I
have other rooms...but can't suggestion them all.

Re: Let's rebirth the Suggestion Forum!
the first three parts of my PvP Suggestion. If someone coudl edit them for grammar and add some of those flashy symbol flourish borders to the titles that's be great.
- Spoiler:
- PVP World Upgrades: DIY and Missions
When PvP worlds were first mentioned and released, people loved the idea. Discussions raged across the forums about the many cool places that battles could play out. They discussed the many different places that one could fight. It was supposed to be revolutionary. Guess what? It wasn’t. Jagex and the forumers made a mistake. Runescape, although supposedly a roleplaying game, is about money and skills, and guess what? Having massive clan battles in Meyerditch is great for roleplaying, but not so good for anything else. Thus I propose a new glorious battlefield upon which to test our skills: Specialty PvP Worlds.
Specialty PvP worlds as I imagine them would have three core features. First, they would be DIY worlds. The only way to get an item in these worlds is to make it yourself or loot it from a player or a monster’s corpse. Second, missions would be instituted, allowing you to perform certain tasks for rewards, but they have to be done entirely within the DIY world, making it much more…interesting. Third, there would only be 1-2 F2P and 1-2 P2P worlds, meaning there will be a hell of a lot more people.
Of course, a question remains. How will this be incentivized? I intend to answer that throughout this suggestion.

2.) DIY World Mechanics and basic principals
3.) XP Modification
4.) Missions: The Basics
5.) Missions: Examples
6.) Missions: Rewards

- Spoiler:
DIY Worlds: The Basics
Those who enter the dark worlds of DIY PvP will find themselves stripped of all save their own inherent skills. Money and equipment will not avail you here, the demons who guard this plane insure that. Alone, with only their wits and talents (though those can be incredible) to help them they must fight tooth and nail to survive. If they do…they will be richly rewarded.
The basic mechanic, which I have to admit I stole from a thread I saw years ago, is that there is no trading or interacting of any sort. The only exception is certain specialty weapon stores such as the main dragon weapon suppliers will be open with limited stocks. Banks may also be partially available, however you have only 10 spaces and they are distinct from your main bank.
Upon entering a DIY world, you will be spawned with any equipment you had the last time you were there, into a random location. Your goal is singular: survive. If you die, all items on you are lost, and you will respawn in a random location. Your location in DIY PvP is independent of your location in the main game worlds.
If you kill another player, all of their items are yours to loot, the only exception is untradeables. It should be noted however that the DIY PvP equipment will not transfer through death unaffected. DIY PvP equipment will become “bloodstained” and will be locked into the world. (all this jargon is explained later).
As said before, the idea is simple: survive
- Spoiler:
XP Modification
Those who engage in the vicious combat of PvP will find that the strange and twisted gods who rule these worlds will augment the minds of the most vicious warriors, allowing them to learn quicker. Those who successfully pull of a mass slaughter will find themselves capable of learning many new skills quite rapidly. The vicious warriors who spend the greater portion of their time on these dark planes have a name for the favor of the dark gods: Blood tokens. Marks of favor from the gods, blood tokens are a powerful gift, but the gods will not assist you if you fail to live up to their standards.
Blood tokens are points, they are not physical objects. For some kills in a DIY zone you will receive a blood token. There is a 10% chance of receiving them from any kill (although not from anyone you’ve killed in the last 15 minutes). If an enemy has 3 or more bloodtokens there is an 100% chance of receiving one. After killing a player on a DIY PvP world, all xp gained will be multiplied by the number of DIY tokens you have. However, those with 7 or more blood tokens will find that revenants and other beasts will spawn around them, that all beasts will do their damnedest to kill them, and that other players will be drawn to them.
Anyone with 7 or more blood tokens will be indicated by an arrow on other player’s minimaps. how far away another player can detect you is determined by your number of tokens and theirs. Tokens can also be sacrificed to double the speed gained in non- PvP pursuits for a total of 30000 extra xp. While in use like this a token is considered active and will still draw beasts and players but will not contribute to xp from defeating those players who may come and hunt you.

Just posting to see if signature works
EDIT: It doesn't why not?! It's not fancy at all
EDITEDIT: It worked, I fail.
How would compressing smithing affect everything? Mining would have to have a compression too (85 mining -> Around 60 smithing (My opinion) -> 40 defence) Also, introducing higher armours and weapons is always risky

Can read mine or 3mpty's thread on how we think it would work.
but yes
Smithing level adjusted
Mining level = lowest smithing level (if rune daggers need level 60, mininig level = 60)
Exp rates need to be adjusted
Alching rates need to be adjusted
quantity of spots need to be adjusted, no need to for rune to stay as rare as it is.
Fletching levels might need adjusting.
It is by no means an easy task, its very complex.....but i think its required.

I think that I may have realized why Jagex hasn't "fixed" smithing yet. They have said that there will be high (as in 90+) requirement weapons (and armor, presumably), smithing will have an overhaul to allow for these new materials.

Why's it 120 anyway? Why not 126 which is the highest level an single skill could achieve given them maximum experience? (thus a reward for all those 200mil exp'ers).
But no, I don't know. It promote not having a life far too much.
