Bots Among Us (Minigame Pitch)

Post by MorbiusMonster on Fri Jul 05, 2013 3:41 am

Botany Bay has cleared the scourge of Bot Invasions, sparing our resources, allowing us to fight those most profitable of beasts and allowing us to hear ourselves think in the Grand Exchange. It would appear the war against macroing has been won, but has it?

In the far reaches of RuneScape, the billionaire tyrant, known as Baron Bot Capek, has new blueprints and plans to monopolise the RuneScape economy to his will - a new line of bots that will no longer be facsimiles of humans and therefore can more aggressively procure the resources for his business and resist arrest.  With millions set to move out, a branch of the Crux Eqal that protect the world from economic threat have come forward and try their hardest to hold off the invasion, but they need help.

Within "Bots Among Us", players fight wave after wave of bots by either acquiring resources, protecting the stash from invaders or taking the fight to the enemy - all for a wide variety of prizes that award additional experience at popular training areas and even getting their hands on some "borrowed" Bot equipment.

The People in charge of Bots Among Us

Post by MorbiusMonster on Fri Jul 05, 2013 4:03 am

Leading the resistance against the macro menace are;

Sir Kitrey - Representing the Temple Knights in this small band of fighters, he wishes to see the Baron face justice for his actions that have caused such disruption to RuneScape and the offences of Other World Trading. He leads the role in defending the base against invaders and will be there to assign you that role.

Machtix - Representing the Druids, the preservation of resources is important in the balance of RunesScape, which is why Machtix stood up to fight against bots. He's part of a group that believes that the resources cycle is disrupted when there is an over acquisition of resources caused by bots which could leave RuneScape's honest players in rough situations. He runs the role of gather resources in the game and can help you acquire the best ones for use against the invasion.

Jen the Annihilator (or simply just Jennifer) - Representing Zamorak, this over eager fighter wants to lead an offensive route against the bot invasion. Previously, the bots have caused her trouble because they would swarm to monsters dens and slay all the creatures within them - which she wanted to do! She tolerates the others as they all want to fight the bots, but will rather work with others who want to lead an assault against waves of bots.

Reprogrammed Unit 404 - Part of the line of bots that has successfully been reprogrammed, not the 404th, but rather the date in which it was captured and converted. He has revealed the secrets of its fellow models and can improve the quality of your tools in exchange for earned points.

Baron Bot Chapek - The main enemy. He hasn't been seen for a very long time, but he is responsible for all the invasions taking place. It is rumoured that only when all the faults in all his models have been exposed, he'll take matters in his own hands to crush the resistance.

Gameplay

Post by MorbiusMonster on Fri Jul 05, 2013 4:17 am

"Bots Among Us" features three main objectives for play.

Resource: In order to keep the fight going and to help against the bots, players will need to collect resources. These include gathering wood, ore, shards, runes and pretty much everything else that is important. As well as gathering and producing new tools for the attack, resource gathers can also gain experience in construction by fortifying or rebuilding defences. Also, bots aren't very clever and some thieves might also come in handy.

Defence: The base will always be under attack, so these players will fight to protect it directly or work in building traps or jammers to hinder incoming bots. Resource gatherers are also vulnerable from aggressive gathering bots that are prone to switching into combat mode due to an unknown fault, so defenders may be needed to even the odds.

Offence: Taking the fight to the enemy might be the only way of winning the war, therefore capable warriors will be needed to launch an assault on the base and hopefully reach the inner sanctum and destroy it. The offence will also be needed to tame some of the native monsters of the land to improve the attack against the bots.
