I somewhat disagree with the Judge's idle approach.

The Judges don't seem to be idle...more like they observe the situation and make a rational decision based on what each side has to offer. They don't stay strictly in the middle through any conflict; they choose sides only after seeing what each has to offer.

I'd rather contribute and then determine whether others share the same opinion. Not pick from the best opinions.

Whatever. Plus, it's not just my interpretation. Most of the triumvirate forum is treating the Judges as Guthix's team... the team of balance, the team that exists to keep things balanced. That's pretty much the definition of a handicap.

there are several methods of keeping balance. You seem to think that the triumvirate team the Judges has to be the "help the weak fight the strong" type. I think it's pretty damn clear from the nature of the challenge that they are of the "take power as a balanced force" variety.
