I think I've had this thread before, but could we please share our local terms for various pig-products?
In England...
In England...
- "A joint of pork/pork":
Generally referred to as "white meat", although I contest it's grey meat.
- "A joint of gammon":
Considerably pinker, but I think it's still classed as a white meat. Perhaps my favourite thing to have with a roast aside from chicken.
- "Ham":

Generally served cold in sandwiches or with eggs, etc. I'm not a huge fan. Wikipedia says it's the same as gammon, but to hell it is!
- "And lastly, the god that is... BACON!":
Crispy or don't bother for me.

honestly, pig is my favorite meat out there in all it's delectable forms,

Um, the first one is generally just pork loin or pork. The second is ham...the third is ham (sometimes ham steaks). And the last is bacon.

Ooh, that second one's new. Meatloaf or something? First returns some good images for what I'd call ham.
