If you were to create a future world for RuneScape, set a few millennia in the future, what would be your key differences?

That one is hard, personally I imagine us being more rogue and less hero. Possibly some kind of Dictatorship, religious and machines.

I would have Magic being outlawed at some point in the past, Zamorak faced the void and is no longer with us, Armadyl is currently the enforcing body (robotic guards with Armadyl's logo on them, not necessarily workers of Armadyl - they could just be using his name). At some point there was a huge war where the undead rose and human population is scarce.

Oh, oh, and when we arrive at the future we are "expected". Tongue

Some kind of Blockade? Only people from the regime are allowed to travel in space. I can't imagine it either.

Possibly: technology just never went in that direction?

I'm just picturing us arriving in the middle of some supercity in the future, and the local law enforcement, who we notice have Armadyl's crest on their arms, swarm us - identifying us as "foreign". Some shady characters ninja their way passed the guards and snatch us in a puff of smoke, we awaken in camp hidden by the grossly oversized-shrubbery with very peculiar plants - like hollowtree type stuff. Basically, the lower class have gone back to a very nomadic but high-tech lifestyle while the upper classes live in their supercities. Grin

Sounds interesting. I imagine their weapons more like swords and whips than blasters. Of course with added features like energy and such, but I just can't imagine blasters...

Sorta, but having two blades makes it harder to stab... nearly impossible to slash... I don't see it's practicality.

this my favorite topic to discuss- corrupt, evil governments. XD

Anyways, what would be my imagination is the government killed off all the other races (non-human), except for in Morytania because somehow the forces die off as they enter through some mystical purpose. O.O Possibly that Zamorak isn't gone, but is still in hiding...

Also, Saradomin could be deemed the 'evil god' because people realized he was just as an ass as Zamorak was; they mainly figured that out 900 years before, at the end of the Zarosian storyline! >D
And caused a massive take-over of Gielinor....

Wow... I just gave myself an idea for a goddammit hard quest...

Corrupt governments are always fun, and I love that these robotic law enforcers bare Armadyl's crest - I'd hope that Armadyl doesn't condone this, and they are merely taking his teaching seriously.
