Is Zavionce too good for Runescape? Empty Is Zavionce too good for Runescape?

Post by blank Thu Jul 22, 2010 8:00 am

Exactly what it says on the tin! Zavionce is a quest series of such mastery, it should be a game of it's own, or a book. I sure as hell know that if Zavionce was released as a book, I would buy my very own copy of it!(Or all 6 of them for that matter). I don't think it should be made into a movie, because it would simply be ruined by modern-day Hollywood(Eragon, anyone?)

And you may be wondering: How would this idea sprout from one's mind?
Well, it's kinda silly. I was looking at the Zavionce Map, and saw that there were very little houses. Which is, of course, not how I'd pictured the majestic city in my imagination. It started with houses, and then started with a looot of other things ^^

If a few changes were made, no-one would even notice it wasn't supposed to be a book of it's own, since it pretty much already is!

I sure as hell would be proud to own my own copy. Well, that and the fact that I know the author, of course.

Peace out!

There would have to be an outside world, though. Whether it's RuneScape, Earth, or another. For a start, the hero is human and comes from another world. Tongue

I think it'd be "Blaziken FF8 with only minimal input from anyone else". Wink

My "minimal input" would likely be a couple of one-liners.

Aww come on, it's not that awesome. 'Flattered that you think so, though. Tongue
I know what you mean about the lack of housing. Those are the only ones you can enter, but riddled within and around the surounding trees, there are many many more. (Though I can't remember if I specified that. Confuse)

Good enough for a book though? Well. . . A few on here already know this, but I've actually been writing a book with a similar setting since September last year! It's just about finished, too. (Two more scenes to be written in the last chapter, glossary to be completed, and needs to be proof-read.)
It's named 'Verdentia: The World Beyond Sight.', but that may change.
It is, however, quite like Zavionce.

You're right. It's more awesome ^^ And I just can't imagine Zavionce in Runescape anymore, I think I'm even a bit reluctant to. It's just that I have a very vivid imagination, which is why I love books so much. Of course, movies are fun, but they don't leave much room for imagination.

I'd always imagined Zavionce to be a majestic city, with dark alleyways and a history that dates back a looooong time. What would this be in Runescape? Well, the following: 7-13 houses, some trees, the Sanctum of Solace and 5 or 6 werefoxes. This is based on the cities of Falador, Varrock, Ardougne, Yanille, and who knows what else? I just don't see Zavionce in Runescape anymore, I've just begun to imagine it much too majestic for our little game ^^

And I didn't know you were almost finished with the book! You have to send me a copy when you finish it, ok? Grin

PS: Verdentia, The World Beyond Sight... Nice ^^

If Zavionce ever did make it into RS, perhaps Jagex would make it seem quite a large and bustling place. We could hope for something like Ardougne, at the very least. (It's more reasonably sized than most RS settlements.)

Verdentia, the central area in my book (as you'd probably guessed), is immense in its size, though I'd like to think I've kept it "magical and charming" all the while. If best came to best, and there was ever a demand for a movie adaption (one can dream), there'd still be plenty left to hold imagination over. Grin

Ardougne isn't populated enough. A few people wander the streets, and some sick(not really) people reside behind some walls. The same goes for Varrock, Falador, or whichever other town you go to. Except for the goblin village, that only has like 4 houses in it, and a million goblins! ^^

And I have no doubt that it could be made into a movie, it's a masterful book(Yes, I'm psychic.) , but even then, it would be determined. What you'd have seen in the movie would stick around in your mind when you read the books, which is exactly why I seriously dislike movies made into books. For example, the Harry Potter movies go massively downhill after the third one(that was ok, but 4th is dissapointing). The sixth one was an anti-climax.

Oh, one more thing: Could you tell me if the conversation I've used for Zendith fits his character? I'm not good at making the conversation actually fit the character ^^ Of course, there are some obvious ones, such as Advisor Grihm, or Rea-wutshisnameagain, the advisor for King Roald.

I know what you mean about the HP films. The first two were probably my favorites, as the series feels more at home with a charming setting, rather than dark. (but maybe that's just me.)

You mean the section with Zendith in LoL4? I haven't got to that part yet, but I will shortly. Tongue

And Ruy . . . yes I did. The two scenes are pretty short, glossary's almost done anyway, and I'm a pretty quick reader. Confuse

Ruy will transform it into an epic poem into the style of homer, both english and danish versions.

Ohhh lordy, what have I started? . . .

About the book, I should mention that I don't think I'll be posting or sending it over the net in any form. I know what you're thinking, but I'm quite the paranoid prat.
I can always talk about it, or answer anything about it, but I don't want to post parts.

Not that you'd likely be missing much anyway, I hope no one's expecting another Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or Wheel of Time. If I was ever to create anything that high'n'mighty, I doubt it'd be first time round. Tongue
