What are the Gods?
Deriving from the texts of an ancestry of mad folks, released shortly after the eventual suicides; disregarded as ramblings, reinterpreted by neurologists.
"What can exactly make the gods what they are? Their power, divinity and ability to control all things of current existence. They can raise empires, cast spells without runes and even stop death of those they love. For years we have yearned to discover what can allow a god to defy all mortal ability, but our search yields no results and doubtfully will.
For centuries they forge themselves in our image to captivate our attention and faith in the belief that in their divinity we are extensions of them. Taking the forms of humans, of demons, of nature and of infinity. None of these are their true forms, but creations from one such inheritant ability.
Entropy manipulation.
Entropy manipulation ranks itself as one of the most powerful of all powers, it defines a god, a single being having the power over order and chaos. Since entropy is a measure of chaos or disorder, to have power over that is what can make a god. Why simply cast runes when you can pull all you need directly from the movement of particles in the air? Why simply die, when the disorder of dying cells can be realligned into control? Why simply be one form, when you can change the order of our own design into chaos and be anything you wish?
The gods are all Entropaths, those that can control the very atoms as to do as they wish. From our faith in them, they become empowered by our emotive energies and it feeds them so, such that they can even grant us but a small pinch of their power to empower ourselves or even bend the physical will of combat.
If we are ever to become gods, all we need to do is discover how we too can control chaos and order. Necromacy, summoning, magic and the likes are but simple trickery however knowledge never dies easily. Once we know how to make chaos into order and vice versa, we will no longer need gods."

Re: What are the Gods?
You may have to be a bit more forthcoming as to what the suggestion is here.
P.S. I found the references to runeless magic to actually be counter-tension building. Goblins can cast magic without runes. In fact, I think it's almost only humans who require them. Saying "cast spells without runes" as if it's something special, when it only puts them on par with goblins.

Re: What are the Gods?
All I'm saying is that there is myth and rumour behind what the gods really are. It is simply saying they are entropaths, beings that can manipulate entropy. Nothing overly divine or decidedly profound like the chosen ones or what have you, they are possibly another species or perhaps made by accident.

Re: What are the Gods?
Sort of, but it's speculative. All it needs is the right means of nourishing it.

Are you proposing methods on how one becomes a god in RS?
