Collective Quest Writing - Page 2 Empty Collective Quest Writing

Post by Dark Avorian Mon Jun 29, 2009 2:51 am

First topic message reminder :

Characters

Commander Kadan: A powerful Purakasi leader he is the governor-general he will almost certainly be a problem

Tzhaar-Mej-Gyann: A Tzhaar Mage who was once a great friend of the land (Gyann is an honorific given to him by the islanders)

Kelkoon: The most politically powerful islander...quite expendable honestly

Callum: Our dear hero

Part One
Callum entered the volcano home of the Tzhaar. He was used to blast of heat...what he was not used to was the blast of noise...everyone was telling him to go meet Tzhaar-Mej-Gyann, and so he wandered around until he found him.

"Hello Callum. You obviously have no idea what is going on. The Purakasi control the Island and have huge support among the people...but they are keeping down all of the magic that made the island great. They persecute any mention of the spirits who taught the mages their art. We must stop this. You will need to do whatever is necessary to overthrow them...you must turn public support against them."
"Why me."

"Because the great mage Tehruhnen...founder of the island city and the one who led the conquest of the surrounding Islands...was your ancestor."

_______________________________________________________________________

Callum pondered on what exactly he would have to do to turn support against them, he decided that in all likelihood the best way to do this would be to find out why the populace supported them...

Upon his arrival on the island he asked some dock workers about it, the general response was that the Purakasi protected them from harm and invasions from various beasts...

When he asked some of the nobles in the city he found out that they held councils and were responsive to most of the people needs...although they ignored some of the nutcases who railed against them...

When he asked the peasants int he coastal villages he learned much to his displeasure that it was widely believed that the Purakasi Knights had been responsible for driving away the dragons...

And when he asked Kolkoon for a reason he heard the most startling thing of all.

"Honestly Callum, they have non one to unite behind...no imperial family to lead them, and so they turn to Kadan...unless you can find an imperial family member and ahve them receive the blessings of the spirits you will not be able to change their hearts, and that my friend is surely impossible."

________________________________________________________________________

"Well, well, well Callum said to himself...If they think they are so benevolent then maybe I'll have to make it appear as if they aren't...I just need to find out who these dissidents at the council meeting are and kill them using Purakasi methods..."

Ok now someone else can continue the story

All the bookcases seemed alive, rotating and changing place. The archives was one big ever changing labyrint. Callum was completely lost, but then something caught his atention. All the bookcases had a small decoration on the top, in varying colours. Callum had no other idea how to get out, than to try following the bookcases with, red, blue, green and white, decoration.

Vile flying books was constantly attacking him, he had a range or magic weapon so he could fend them off. Finally he came to a big room filled with flying books, the bookcase rotated and blocked any exit. Callum looked around and an old worn tomb caught his attention, he took a shot at it and it attacked.

After a hard fight with the tomb, which had a surprisngly large arsenal of spells, Callum took the book and left the archives. Finally he had the log.

The log said the following

01.31 S 02.04 E 5:8

04.45 N 02.41 W 3:8

02.36 N 08 10 E 3:8

10.32 N 12.49 E 7:8

09.01 S 31.37 E 6:8

04:19 S 10.37 E 1:8

12:49 N 20.07 E 2:8

Notes on the Rod of Time

The rod of time moves between searing heat and numbing cold as it moves across the land...but by rubbing any of 8 locations along it you may travel to any of 8 time periods...

Realising that each of these was a coordinate Callum set out...realizing of course that his key was of similar design to the Rod of Time he used the 8 positions on it according to the numbers...at 5 of the locations he had to defeat a powerful mage...at the other 2 he had to raid the camp of mage...but eventually he had all the pages he needed

Callum put the pages in the book, being teleported to another location and had his stats drained for every page he added. (You can be killed, so restoring before adding another page is recommended) finally all the pages are added, but Callum couldn't read the book. It is written in an ancient code and he needed an ancient wisdom/knowledge to read it.

After Callum had gained ancient wisdom/knowledge (Experienced players should know how) he tried to read the book again. He sensed will sense danger and warned himself that it might be dangerous that it might get dangerous. After equipping properly he read the book. The screen fades and he found himself somewhere in a weird dimension.

First Callum was attacked by "Nothing", this creature isn't very powerful, and should be easy to kill. It is indeed nothing.

Then he was attacked by "Everything" a twirling cloud of images and information. (Like camera negatives) as the battle goes he acquired too much information and started losing stats to compensate. This is the hardest battle.

Afterwards Callum was attacked by "The Truth" this monster isn't as hard as "Everything", but it uses Magma, Bone, Leaf and Fog spells. While he fought it, he started to learn what all the information he got from "Everything" meant.

Finally Callum was attacked by "The Secret" this monster wasn't tough, but nothing special. Sadly it teleported away before it was killed and Callum was teleprted back to reality. Now he could read the book.

Post by Dark Avorian Fri Aug 07, 2009 10:30 am

As he read he realized that each of these mages had had the demon staff in their possession at one time or another...and he noted each of them had devised a counter to either one of the spells attacks or one of it's defenses...

The first and second pages gave a description of how to create a msit to cool the sun-maces of the demons and blind them with the maces own light

The third and fourth detailed how leaf and bone combined could block the life draining abilities of the staff

The fifth and sixth showed how magma could be summoned form the depths to rip through the staff's shielding powers

The seventh taught to utilize the four elements for direct strikes once the mages shields were down, it also described the night blue robes of an ancestral mage of Baquun...

Callum finally closed the book, "It is time Kadan, It is time for you to die."

He made his way back to the island, donned the blue robes gifted him by the fire spirit and finally...he strode down the street...straight into the Purakasi Headquarters

We should really do another one of these, if no one has an idea, why don't we choose an existing quest and make a sequel?

Vampire Slayer sounds good, now we just need someone to do it... Dark? You've got the experience Tongue

EDIT: Just realised Count Draynor is the brother of Drakan, who was thrown out for his cowardice. Interesting setting much?

Post by Dark Avorian Sat Nov 21, 2009 4:54 am

I love the idea but heres a list of some quest prompts I've had for a while...

and I suddenly realized one of them is vampire slayer

Quest Ideas

Life and Death
A strange battle is being fought south of Ardougne, Invrigar has summoned his hordes of undead to attack the Tower of Life. But the Homunculus has sent out a warped army of hybrid beasts, what has caused this unnatural feud…?

Fight or Flight
The young son of the Grand Tree’s foremost war glider pilot and designer has taken one of his fathers gliders and disappeared, unfortunately it also appears that a group of Khazard’s warriors, hoping to avenge his death have heard that the Tree’s most secret glider design has crashed somewhere, if they could find it… it would be a disaster.

Wrath of the River Spirit
The town of Hemenster is under assault from a vengeful river spirit…

Terror in the Night
Draynor Village has been plagued with reports of strange creatures entering the town each night…usually a few people are inexplicable woozy following these reports… but it all comes to a climax when Ava and Oddenstein flee to the village and Morgan disappears a day later.

The Disgrace of Grunch
Grunch is an ogre chieftain in disgrace, can you aid him through a series of challenges and prove his (your) might?

Termite Terror
The Grand Tree is facing a potentially deadly infestation of uber-termites. What will they do? Why are the termites immune to Magic? Why are the turtles afraid? And what does Malignius Mortifier have to do with all this?

The Glass Temple
A recent storm in the desert has unveiled the entrance to a huge complex apparently forged by volcanic activity beneath the sand. But soon it becomes apparent that someone or something had a hand in it’s creation…the only quest is who…or what?
