Expansion to the Body Interface
Too many, too few?
Notes;
• The face-slot and heat-slot will rarely conflict with each other - so has to avoid confusion. Items will merely be made invisible when they would, logically, be hidden by items such as a full helm. There will obviously be exceptions - you cannot wear helmets with a Horror Mask, for example.
• The banner-slot holds decorative shoulder-pieces and back-mounted banners. Graphically, and for feasibility, the banners will always have some sort of shoulder-piece adorning them - but you can be shoulder-pieces without a banner. It's possible that the shoulder-piece attached to the banner could have armour-detection and be coloured to match the armour you're wearing. Or, they could just be coloured so the metal is unrecognisable - similar to the family-crest shields.
• The mantle-slot is for over-garments that drape over/cover the body-slot and, occasionally, the leg-slot. Mantles include tunics, vestments, garments, stoles and some robes. Tunics will be the prominent piece worn in the mantle-slot - the basic assortment being the family-crests.
• The vest-slot houses most robes and upperbody chainmail, among other things. This slot is almost the predecessor to the body-slot - players who don't have the skill, requirements or funds to afford platebodies can wear solely the chainmail. An example of how this slot works is our favourite HAM nemesis, Sigmund - he wears the HAM Robetop and the Hard Leather Body simultaneously. However, some vest-items will not be viable when worn with body-items.
• The wrist-slot is long overdue, and I'm surprised it wasn't released with bracelets. The wrist-slot would currently house vambraces and bracelets, but decorated, fancy and caricature wrist-guards could be made available to adorn your metallic attire.
• The shield is no longer held in the off-hand but rather the shield-slot. The reason for this change is to allow shields to be equip with bows and other two-handed weapons via being back-mounted - depending on the shield, it will either appear above or below the cape. Shields will only be held in combat provided the off-hand is free, but will provide defensive stats regardless. It's possible that location could affect the defensive formula - mounted has increased defence to ranged, whilst heald has an increased defence to melee.
• The undergarment-slot holds lower body chainmail and some robe bottoms, similar to the vest-slot's relationship with the body-slot. This slot rarely call priority - appearing underneath mantle, leg and shin-slot, but some occasions may arise. This use of this slot precedes the leg-slot but, as with the vest slot, it's stats can be combined with the leg-slot. Both the vest and undergarment slot will offer few to no negative bonuses when combined with their respective successors.
• The shin-slot compliments the wrist-slot, providing similar decorative, fancy and caricature pieces to adorn your leg-appearance. The shin slot will also hold new anklets, which will offer predominantly the same effects as bracelets but allow archer to achieve them without restricting access to vambraces.
• The main hand is not used for combat, but to hold tools and must be free when travelling by magic carpet. Items in this slot will disappear when in combat unless you are wielding no weapon, but they will not be used efficiently (like using a member weapon in free to play). For items such as the pickaxe and the hatchet, players will have the option to wield (main-hand) and equip (sheath) - its possible that players with a sufficient Attack level could use this weapon in combat from the main hand if they have no primary weapon.
• The off hand holds books, tomes, bows, small weapons (including the defender, the shortsword and others) and some staves. The off-hand adorns usual combat, or makes it possible in the case of bows. If you are wielding no primary weapon, any weapon in your off-hand will be used (if awkwardly) - the bow is the only exception as it will switch to the dominant hand whilst in combat. Two-handed weapons will conflict with this slot - broadswords, polearms, etc.
• The quiver holds an Archer's ammuntion, the sheath holds a Warrior's primary weapon and the pouch holds a Sorcerer's runes - in singles, of course; a single stack of ammo, a single weapon and a single pile of runestones. The appearance of these items can be changed from locations about the game (similar to your default clothing) and will be visible on your avatar unless, in the rare scenario, another item conflicts with it.

Re: Expansion to the Body Interface
I agree with ALMOST everything here...but shields are not worn on the back in order to increase protection...they should only give bonuses if held in the hand

Re: Expansion to the Body Interface
So is that your only objection? Oh my!
I suppose it depends. On my "Shove this in your furnace" thread, the Hoplon was designed to be an archer's shield, if it received no bonuses when mounted what's the point of it.

Mounted on the back? or strapped on the arm?

Re: Expansion to the Body Interface
I think if I had a fremmy shield on my back it would help if I got attacked from behind.
Good ideas... there's just lots of them

There's not that many new ones... and less that need new content.

Lol.
I just read through them more carefully. All would be great additions.

It's a suggestion, it's suppose to be! Unless you meant the actual wall of text (the image in the spoiler).
Re: Expansion to the Body Interface
Yes but this is slightly less split up and organized and test-wally than most

Re: Expansion to the Body Interface
How is it not split up and less organized? I've split it into titles and have bullet points - I can't get any more organized!
PS. I've added spaces between each bullet point, now it's as split up as it can be, too!

Re: Expansion to the Body Interface
I'm sure there are circumstances where it could be. Also, lol has become a word as well as a homophone. It's basically use to replacing the whole "yes *nods* yup *nods* mhmm" that you get when you aren't actually involved in the conversation but have to show you're involvement.
