Ark of the Underworld
"The God Wars have risen my brethren, and we risk the destruction of all things. That is, unless we build a means of the survival of the diversity of species. Beneath the surface of the warring Gielinor, we have collected a number of the species living on this plane; plants, animals and people. This unrivaled Ark with be the salvation should this war eradicate all other life.
"We build this Ark with one important rule - Gielinor and the Underworld must never know of each others' existence. Only a select few, may travel between the two, but each world must be led to believe that are the only one there is."
Welcome to the Ark of the Underworld.
A vault of all life on Gielinor should the world change irreversibly. And now, players can access it.
This is a massive expansion for Dungeoneering. Whilst normally, players would have to traverse floors to gain experience, experience and tokens are gained through the completion of missions and side quests. More importantly, the actions you take profoundly affect what happens in the Underworld; you choose to save someone and get them to safety, you will find them in need of your help much more often, but if you should choose to instead beat upon their assailants, you evoke the wrath of their bosses. Make your decisions wisely.

Re: Ark of the Underworld
Sounds very interesting from a lore stand point, we could easily learn more about the time of the God Wars. My only question, what kind of dungeon would it be? You've really only said that we can make choices in the dungeon, which isn't necessarily awe-inspiring on a gameplay standpoint.

Re: Ark of the Underworld
It isn't a dungeon like Daemonheim, more like an enormous city.

Re: Ark of the Underworld
Sounds fairly cool. Love the idea of a city shaped by our choices.

Re: Ark of the Underworld
Yeah, would bring more interesting things to the game, maybe divide the city in sectors, thus, each sector evolves differently according to your choices in said sector. You get me?

Why divide it...unnecessarily?

Re: Ark of the Underworld
Why would it be useless though? I mean, if you allow people to access the whole city at once, they'll quickly grow bored of it, however, if you allow them to unlock other parts, and that your decisions in the previous part affect your game play, you incite players to make good decisions, and to use it.

Re: Ark of the Underworld
Okay, I'd like some ideas for what goes on. I was going to intend this to be a community project, since it was originally Duskcurse who wanted a city like the Underworld; I just decided to revive it slightly and give it a renewed lease of life.
Considering how the Ark is made up of species from the Second Age, but not the Third, the Ark will have Mahjarrat, Auspah, Icyene, Aviansie and the Myriad, but it won't have Goblins or Bandosian species introduced during or after the wars.

Re: Ark of the Underworld
Some were taken among the numbers of species to be preserved with Gielinor. Despite not being native, they still played an important role, particularly as political/religious leaders. Presumably, many just weren't that bothered in the fighting.

...On a scale of 1 to a race, the mahajarrat come in at coven of shapeshifting demigods. Like, taking one into an ark wouldn't happen

Who's to say they had a choice?

Re: Ark of the Underworld
Revise statement: I'm not arguing the Mahjarrat COULDN'T be taken into an ark. I'm arguing that there aren't enough of them for even one to have been so taken without us having to retcon this disappearance into the lore. Let alone taking multiple.

Re: Ark of the Underworld
We don't know how many Mahjarrat there were before the war and Zemouregal only mentions the most notable of his own kind. Also, it might explain what happened to Palkeera and Kharshai, nobody knows what happened to them.
