How Plant pots are now.
Currently, a Plant Pot is bought from
a Farmer. It can be used on a Tree or Fruit Tree Patch, to fill it with
soil. It is possible to do this with a tree growing. This requires a
Trowel.
When filled, it can have a seed added to it. This is
the start of the process of turning a Seed into a Sapling, and
eventually a tree. This gives a Message in the Chat Box, and a new
examine to tell you it has something sown, and become named a Seedling,
but surprisingly it does not provide a new look.
To make the
Seedling into a Sapling, it must be watered. This is the hardest part,
as a watering can only holds 8 ‘doses’. When watered, a Plant Pot will
gain a new examine, but no new name. It also remains the exact same
look.
Eventually, as with so much in Farming, it will grow.
Also similarly to lots of other things in Farming, it runs in 5 minute
cycles. Every 5 minutes everyone’s seedlings will become Saplings.
As
a Sapling, it can be planted in a Tree or Fruit Tree Farming Patch
(depending on Sapling) and will grow. Compost or Super-compost may be
used on the Patch, but not in the actual Plant pot. The farmers at the
patch may also be paid.

Improvements to Plant pots.
Firstly, I suggest that after soil
is added to a Plant pot, it is possible to add Compost to it. Normal or
Super Compost. This would mean that Compost wouldn’t have to be added
to the Patch, this Compost would do exactly the same thing.
Now,
I’m satisfied with how the name changes when a Seed is added to a Plant
pot. I’d suggest adding a (u) for unwatered after it though. For
example, if an Apple Tree Seed is added to a Plant Pot, it would be
renamed “Apple Seedling (u)”. I also suggest changing the look of it
slightly. The centre of the soil should turn the same colour as the
seed it is associated with.
Watering obviously needs
changing, desperately. When the Watering Can runs out, it is too easy
to lose where you were up to with watering. Simple solution, well, two.
First of all, make the name change to Seedling(w) for watered.
Secondly, make a change to the look, again. Either make the Soil turn
slightly darker, or add a watering look similar to watering normal
Farming crops. I prefer the latter for consistency, but the former
would also work.
I believe that these small updates would help drastically with producing Saplings.

A new compost?
This idea is based off an original idea from Xena_51023, it is made by both of us.
This
idea revolves around My Arm** farming Patch, available after My Arm**
Big Adventure Quest. Herbs grown in this Patch will never get diseased.
Currently, Compost does a number of things, including increasing the growth speed, and decreasing the rate of Disease.
This
would allow Compost or Super Compost to be used on My Arm*s Patch, to
increase the Compost’s defence against disease. It would not adjust the
Speed at all, because My Arm*s Patch doesn’t do that.
Obviously,
the Soil can’t constantly be getting removed by greedy adventurers like
us. Therefore it will only be possible to use 5 Buckets of Compost, or
Plant pots filled with Compost each day. Each time one is taken a
Message will appear in the Chat Box saying how many more are left.
A
new Lunar Spell would also be added. It would allow for up to 10 uses
of this Patch per day. It would require Level 78 Magic, and be called
Preserve Compost. It would give 80 Exp, which fits perfectly between
Superglass Make and Dream. It would require 3 Astral Runes, 15 Earth
runes and 5 Nature Runes. It could only be cast on a My Arm*s Patch
with the full amount of soil, and therefore can only be used once a
day, and only before attempting to enhance any Compost.
I
would imagine that the Name of the Compost would change to Compost or
Supercompost (e) when enhanced at My Arm*s Patch. I would also imagine
the graphics would change slightly to make it clear.
The specific details of this Compost:
-When
used, there will be a 80% chance that a crop will not get disease. This
leaves a 20% chance it will, which should be low enough to make it
worthwhile.
-If a crop does get diseased, it will not die but will be 'suspended'. It will stop growing until cured, but will not die.
-
That be all.
Thankyou as always.

Re: You Sown, Watered or What!?!?
I think this is a great idea. Prolly one of the reasons I hate farming is... well, some stuff put in this thread. Many people I know get turned off of farming because of speed, difficulty, and time.
I would start planting trees... and herbs again
