RIP Zavionce?
'Guess I'll just cut to the chase. Lately, my interest in maintaining Zavionce has begun to waver, and I'm considering just letting it go. I've many other things to worry about at the moment, and having to constantly bump it and it's side-thread are beginning to feel a bit tedious.
Not to mention, the list of features that still need to be added picks away at my mind every time I scroll past it.
I suppose I could always save a copy and just post it again at some point in the future.
Any thoughts?

You've done us proud, Blazie!
...but Jagex has inevitably seen it. So reasons for and against what you do are purely for your own reasons, not for the benefit of anyone else.

Re: RIP Zavionce?
Don't quit! You run the best thread in the entire forum if you'd like, maybe one of us could take it off your hands for a bit. Please don't quit it, Zavionce is the peak of suggestion quality
Should you decide to quit, however, then there is nothing we can do about it. It'll be a shame to see you leave it though

I guess our ideas aren't good enough to stand up against all these new BS ideas coming! That's why we need to repopulate the suggestion forum! **** ideas are taking over the once-fantastic ideas!

Re: RIP Zavionce?
I suppose that's a good idea, Jerre. If anyone would like to run it for a while, just say so, we'll have a quick word about it.
I've just been too busy with real-life things these days to pay it much attention. Not to mention, my book's almost finished (I'm a good bit through the 3rd-last chapter), so naturally, I've a good bit of attention to pay it.

Re: RIP Zavionce?
I feel the some way sometimes with my idea. I have so much I'd like to write down, but time constraints can make this hard, but there is always the feeling that makes me think that no one wants my stories.
The two of us are amongst a growing trend of anthro writers, the competition is high, the audience easily turned and the overwhelming feeling that someone else is just trying to match you. It's all this compiled together that gives you that kind of feeling that makes you feel your work is worth naught. You have your werefoxes, I have the werewolves and many other writers have their own ideas that they hold dear to them and plan to write their own novels (I have heard of a writer who has anthro squirrels).
When you see all this and what you set yourself up against, it's hard not to feel down, not to feel that maybe your work is mediocre to another writers'. I feel that way all the time when I look at your work. The only way to solve this level of blues is to distance yourself from those you choose to compare yourself to. From what I see, you have a clear idea of how you want them to look and how you wish your story to go, and I match that kind of ambition.
Set yourself away from the rest of the anthro world. Try and make your characters as distant as you can. When you start this project, have the resolve to see it through. I am on Chapter 40 of my novel, and I have left it at that, but now I really must see it through. If your characters are too human (which I personally think both of ours are), make them more feral, more distant from humanity and that is how you set yourself aside. And if you want to make them really distant increase the adult content slightly (but not on the forums obviously).
Oh and jeroenvt "Best thread on the forum"?

Re: RIP Zavionce?
I'd say that's very sage advice, Morbius. Thank you. And you're right, anthropomorphism is on the rise. I agree that over humanising creatures which are animalistic can occur very often, accidently or not. I suppose how their character fits in their story is the most crucial thing to consider.
I'm also honoured that you consider my work noteworthy. As we know, Arzonus is the most acclaimed quest-idea out there, so that's a big compliment to hear from its author!
Best of luck on your book, by the way. I'm sure you'll give T.S. Church a run for his money.

Re: RIP Zavionce?
As a word of advice, picture an actor or another character being one of the cast in your story. That way you could grasp an idea of how your characters would behave. If you want a character to be more animal, choose an more animal character.
I plan to model Theta Magnus on the actor Timothy Dalton as Rassilon. That way I can blend the character's intelligence, malice and inhumanity.

Re: RIP Zavionce?
Also, resist that idea, but please keep in mind of general plot direction, BUT keep yourself open to plot twists that your mind keeps making up! Sometimes they're better than what you originally plan - happens to me ALL of the time. Try it and you'll see!

Re: RIP Zavionce?
I have an idea how to keep Zavionce running. Post it in the new SEP thread, state your name and post a link to it from Zavionce. You get new readers, bumpers, and the SEP gets attention!

Re: RIP Zavionce?
While I appreciate the tips and advice, the problem doesn't lie in the brainstorming or lack of posts (It's always been a rather slow thread). It's mainly my current inability and lack of enthusiasm to maintain it.
I'm still open to the idea of someone else taking over for a while, should they wish it. I might post the offer on the SEP thread.
Who knows? I might feel like riding with it again in future! But for now... =/

Re: RIP Zavionce?
If you're willintg to take care and maintain another thread, then I hereby give you permission, Jerre.
A few things though: remember to state that I was the creator. And when you make your version, it'd probably be better to include 'Alchemy of Tactic' in the thread, rather than making a seperate thread for it like I did.
Aside from that, you'd really only need to copy and paste mine into a new thread. Tell me once you have so I can lock the current version.
