Diversions and Distractions!
Here's what I've got for a guide to writing a good one;
Current Guide: Example
~[Additions to Skills]~
1) Pick a skill that you can relate to and make sure you know what you’re talking about! Creating a thread based on the rantings of your friend about content you've never experienced first hand is unhelpful and asking for flaming.
2) Try and choose a skill that is neglected or not worth training past a certain level. For example: Slayer, Farming, and Firemaking.
3) Give it new features that will help make it worthwhile. You could suggest Prayers for non-combat use!
4) Always try to spread out the features you're suggesting. Don’t be too scared to post low or high requirements. People need somewhere to start or somewhere to aspire to be.
5) Jagex is very fond of links between the skills; if you can find a unique link that’ll offer some great benefits then that’ll be great. For instance, a link between Slayer and Runecrafting would be a good one to make.
6) Make sure the expansion is worth the time and effort you will put into the skill. Make the benefits of the update worthwhile, yet not overpowering!
Psycho's been here... I can sense (see) his editing...
- Random (like find-it) or skill-based
- Some can require time before getting the full reward again or doing it again
- Skill-based ones should require a range of options for higher and lower levels
- Must be interesting/semi-fun, enough to make you want to do it again
- Must have rewards based on level, how well you worked on it, how often you can do it
- Must not have hugely overpowered or underpowered rewards

Re: Diversions and Distractions!
Reserve for guide when written.
~[Diversions and Distractions]~
A DaD is a new thing to the game. They are new enough we can't quite make a great guide. Well, we have some ideas and they will be posted below.
1) Random (like find-it) or skill-based Distractions are good. It gives people things to do while wondering around or needing some experience or a fun way to train a skill.
2) They should require a range of options for higher and lower levels. A high level won't want to do something so easy that it's boring and isn't worth the time, but a low level won't want to do something that it always fails at.
3) Must be interesting/semi-fun, enough to make you want to do it again. A boring Distraction makes a waste of an update. People won't use it much before they never want to do it again.
4) Must have rewards based on level, how well you worked on it, how often you can do it. If you just give out experience for trying, what's the point in doing your best? A high level used their time to train, so they should also be rewarded more, right? Also, a game you can do once a day should not give as much experience as one that can be done once a week.
5) Must not have hugely overpowered or underpowered rewards. Just like almost anything else, unbalanced rewards won't make people want to play. Overpowered rewards can make people rich or level too quickly, underpowered rewards will make people think about how they could spend their time differently.
6) Some can require time before getting the full reward again or doing it again. If you could do it constantly, it's not a distraction.
7) They must move around the map. It wouldn't be fun if it was all in the same place!

Re: Diversions and Distractions!
Grah! Just press the button that looks like AA and when it's pink it means it's on.
Sometimes when you turn it on it glitches a bit, just press preview and it'll refresh.
In the Quick Reply at the bottom of each topic it's far right... when you click reply there might be too many buttons for it to be the far right one. If there are too many buttons for it to be far right, it'll be the far right of the second row... it looks like AA!!!!

Re: Diversions and Distractions!
I found this out a while ago, but I only just remember this thread. I was making a table for the first time on Chrome and the button wasn't there... so I went to Firefox.
