[P] Water supply
First topic message reminder :
Pallis is unusual in that it has a very low portion of it's surface area covered in water. Normally this would probably lead to the downfall of life, but a certain set of huge devices positioned along the edge at some time in the past provide huge quantities of water via massive aquaducts above the land.
The massive beasts, known as the Mouths of the Creators are strange stone monoliths that draw in clouds from above the lower world and condense them, they then shoot water in huge jets along aqueducts that carry the water further inland

Re: [P] Water supply
Urgh, I meant concept are for the Mouths of the Creators... not the forerunner. I merely meant that if I'm doing concept art which resembles the forerunner (such as their face, so has to have their mouth), it would require knowing what the forerunner look like. I wasn't going to draw the forerunner.
I reckon bipedal and fully physical, though. Taller and more slender than man, with goat/horse/dog style legs (in that they walk on their toes/have three-part legs). I don't know, I really don't.

Re: [P] Water supply
as of the forerunners body or legs, as Taurons? or Fauns?
Mouths of the Creators, well I cant really say what they would look like, as I dont know, some kind of spec. mouth I think. would there be a symbol of the Mouths of the Creators. Like a sort of Mouth of somekind.
It is Statues then.. Monoliths (see easter island)
ten different statues in a circle or somekind, and from this things are coming out
Ten different shaped, with all their mouths open, making the cloud blown through and condense them to water. then the water are twisting up to the aqueducts above them to the inland.
Monoliths.. then, some kind of special design. Shaped as big heads or just simple stone pillars?
If big heads of Beasts. Just the head or other body parts too? Are the clouds coming up from a system of tunnles and the shaped to water through some kind of magic..
3mpty, now I hope you got some ideas?

For some reason my ability to come up with keywords (for searches) is impaired, so this is the closest that I could find to what came to mind for a mouth and water.

Re: [P] Water supply
Me too. But in my head I had the face tilted back further and the mouth wider open.
I suppose if the mouths all bear completely unrelated species (for some reason I wanted to double plural that, specieses) then they don't have to be the forerunner themselves; just decorative.

Re: [P] Water supply
Almost, how did yours vary?
(oh yeah, and a further difference to that image is the direction of the face - it should be pointing down the channel)

Re: [P] Water supply
sry, I just talked to the air. well sry for that...
as on the other thread, I liked the idea of having the mouths faces defaced of age and... you know, old, really old, and some mouths maybe are destroyed or something, been broken you know...

Re: [P] Water supply
Wait. I'm just realizing...Did you say you imagine the mouths as pointing inwards? Because it seems to me that the mouths would be pointing out towards the clouds, drinking in the water to nourish Pallis.

Re: [P] Water supply
I know this may seem a bit random or out of place, but whenever I keep reading about Pallis I keep thinking of dense fog everywhere. Perhaps some of the creatures have utilized something to condense it into fresh, drinkable water? Especially for those in the Dwallish regions. I mean honestly, an entire forest on the southern half of the planet and only a few bodies of water with little to no precipitation?
EDIT: I even imagine in the Mogrul mountains that are so tall, and especially in the spring, have the peaks higher than the actual clouds. A lot like the Himalayan springs here on Earth.

Re: [P] Water supply
You imagine fog everywhere? There's the mistrise which is a tide of magic-saturated mist that isn't particularly healthy, and it does rain. But condensing the cloudsea (the expanse of cloud surrounding Pallis) is what the Mouths do - dispensing the water in adqueducts.
