Elemental Mastery Quest Skills
Elemental Mastery
This is a rather large idea I had for four new related quest skills, Air Mastery, Water Master, Earth Mastery, and Fire Mastery
They are unlocked after completing the elemental masters quest which is started by speaking to malignius mortifier and splits into four parts one per element, the required levels are lvl 50 in all of the following FM & Smithing (Fire), Fishing & Herblore (Water), Mining and Farming (Earth), Agility and Ranging (Air)
After this you get to choose which skill you want to have access to primarily you will get XP boosting you to lvl 3 in each skill, unlock the Elemental Mastery tab and get 5000 xp in your chosen starter skill
You may only access (and therefore train or utilize) one skill at a time, switching requires buying a scroll for 10k from the appropriate apprentice of malignius and tkaing it to either the runecrafdting altar or the appropriate obelisk...
Air Mastery: This skill will star with floating a piece of papyrus throught some obstacles, eventually you will gain many powerful abilities, run speed will increase, arrows will fly around obstacles, when you fall off agility obstacle you'll float back to the start, you'll learn new ways to telegrab, you'll be flinging arrows back at opponent and pulling them in for yourself, air spells will travel farther, eventually you will become an air staff and give yourself unlimited air ues while flying over walls and flying the crashed gnome gliders
Water Mastery: You will start by filling buckets from across the room but in no time at all you'll be catching any fish bare handed, isolating and removing posions from your blood, stealing the powers of potions from your enemies, swimming across rivers, even traveling to the ancient cavern direct from the the river dougne, walking on water and giving friends in your clan battles a dose of potion, prevent water from evaporating in the desert and even absorbing moisture from the air. Eventually you will provide yourself infinite water runes
Earth Mastery: Although you may start out by breaking off chunks of clay with your hands you soon be able to crack open rocks with your mind from across the room, know the instant any plant gets diseased and even be able to administer plant cure from across gielinor. You'll be like a rock in battle, an impassable barrier like brawlers in PC. You'll be able to compost items and eventually even supercompost items at will. and eventually you will provide unlimited earth runes to yourself
Fire Mastery: At first you'll merely be using candles to burn piece of papyrus held out in your other hand but eventually you'll be burning logs and smelting ores at will. You'll be able to incinerate entire inventories of logs, inflict burn damage, sear weapons from your opponents hands and deflect dragonfire. eventually you'll provide yourslef infinite fire runes

Re: Elemental Mastery Quest Skills
I dislike Ranged being used whilst other combat styles are not - I realise this isn't directly tied to magic so it's not for that reason.
With a little work this could be a good idea, but at the moment it lacks the capacity to be a skill (even an unofficial one). This could work with the skill-splitting idea though, like a sub-skill of Sorcery. :]

Re: Elemental Mastery Quest Skills
What does it "lack"? This is not exactly magic (or Sorcery)...more a mental alignment with the element that strengthens as you train it...

This sounds almost exactly like bending from Nick's Avatar: The Last Airbender series.

Re: Elemental Mastery Quest Skills
those abilities are a sample of abilities...and they range over several levels
It's not as if at lvl 50 water mastery every single type of fish is now cathcable without equipment...it will take maybe lvl 5 to catch shrimp w/o equipment but upwards of 90 to catch shark
And the swimming shortcuts will be spread out...direct travel from ardougne north bank to ancient cavern will require about 96 water mastery
Air shortcuts are the same, air based grabs would be categorized somehow with only the best being able to grab high value items...etc
obviously the other areas are much larger than I implied with my short descriptions
