Homecoming Apocalypse Reroute
First topic message reminder :
Now that it has (basically) been confirmed that Zaros will be involved in the Mahjarrat storyline there is little point in continuing Homecoming Apocalypse as it currently stands. We are too assume Jublex has already planned how the Mahjarrat storyline will end and Homecoming Apocalypse simply cannot be involved. However, it would be a shame to let all our work go to waste. Thus, we shall be severing most ties between Homecoming Apocalypse and the Zarosian storyline.
It's evident that Zaros is based on the real-life Zoroastrian religion, his name being not that dissimilar to Zoroaster (sometimes written Zartosht). For any who have played the new Prince of Persia, the whole game is based on the Zoroastrain religion. My very crude understanding is that the whole of creation is in a state of equilibrium between good and evil, light and darkness. Well... Zaros was banished to the shadow realm. Does that make him the true god of Good? Light? His name is believed to be based off the protagonist within the religion. Does this leave us to assume there is a god who dwells within the Shadows? In Zoroastrain this god in known as Ahriman (realises that Ahrim is spelt the same)... what should we name this fictitious lord of the shadows? I had no initial plans for Atlas as a character other than an insatiable desire for chaos, but it's possible.
Even if we assume that Zaros' name is merely coincidentally similar. It's still an interesting direction, no?
And I've just realised I've probably gone too deep here.
Atlas is an unseen phantom, although his voice can be heard through the amulet of ghost-speak (which will have its own speaking-head). Upon release of this quest, Atlas will contact you. Atlas is truly insane, speaking in riddles and in foreign tongue. He will ask if you hear it, the drums. But you make no sense of it. It should be noted that Atlas is very curious of the Ring of Charos, and will speak of nothing else whilst wearing it.
The drums will represent an arc in terms of scripting - and will be mentioned by other NPCs including the Oracle, the Town Criers and Juna; "It is most bemusing; in my ears I hear drums, but through my eyes I see none," "Oh, how wonderful. Someone is playing drums to accompany my ringing! LA, la, la..." and "The drums play the sound of war, can you hear them?" Of course, the player cannot hear the drums and shall hopefully be completely confused.
Atlas could request us to do things, and, in spirit, we do. We could drop the ghost-speak amulet off at Reldo's, visit Ali the Wise, or trouble Azzanadra with our queries... but they will remain mostly baffled by the voice we hear (as Atlas will not speak to them, and will merely blow a raspberry at Azzanadra who will curse it angrily). Atlas will even make a trivial reference to Bioshock by saying "Would you kindly... actually, what am I saying? I know you will anyway!" "Would you kindly" being the characters "obey" command in Bioshock from a character by the name of Atlas.
The story is written in 2nd person; telling the story of a character named Callum. "Callum peers into the mirror". Atlas, our key personality, will talk to the player when he has information to contribute... think of him as a slight variant to the ComOrb.
Upon release, the quest journal entry for this quest is unavailable. Selecting it will trigger a chat-head conversation with yourself;
Callum: Hmmmm, the page is empty. Strange.
A shiver trickles down your spine.
Callum: Urrggghh, I have the shivers all of a sudden.
In the News Section it will list the requirements, as usual, but will list the start location as Unknown or N/A. If you click to view the Rewards it will say, "My sincerest apologises, the rewards have completely vanishes. The ghosts have had a busy night."
Leading up to the quest being released, players will occasionally see chat appearing in the chatbox whilst wearing the Ghostspeak Amulet; "Can you hear me?", and the like.
If you haven't caught on, to begin the quest you must select the quest journal whilst wearing the amulet of ghostspeak. After accepting the quest, the journal will become available. Requirements will be listed at the top, but they aren't required to begin the quest (obviously).

I did. The list is on the first post on that thread. I'm sorry, but there isn't a disease diamond. The closet thing would be venom, tar, or moss. :\

Full original thread is here, but it's out-dated and much of it has changed.

Re: Homecoming Apocalypse Reroute
Yeah, like Dark said, refer to Dragon's link. I'm merely responded to an unanswered post.
