I got several Tweets on my phone from RuneScape and Jagex's Twitters announcing it. 
Go to Stellardawn.com, you can sign up to possibly be in the Beta.
I hate Twitter, and find it pointless, but when I discovered they had a text service I thought... meh, why not.

I really hope I like it. I've not had a good game in a while that's kept me playing for an extended period of time. Battlefield 2142, Gears of War 1 and RuneScape, I think, have been the only games I carried on playing - Battlefield and GoW lasting well into half a year to a year.

It is as Sci-fi based as RuneScape is fantasy based.

I don't like it. Something very Avatar about some of the initial designs. And I bet that Jagex will still be hinting an awfully large amount of RuneScape and FunOrb hints behind it (probably go so far as to say that this is either the same world just thousands of years into the future or the human descendants of RuneScape looking for a new world).

Avatar's your only experience of alien worlds in fiction, huh? Or even just future-Earth?
I don't know, StellarDawn's concept art and Avatar seem so different. Avatar has vivid colours and everything from rocks to vegetation is illuminated, bright, and seemingly alive; whilst StellarDawn's alien-topology is very dark, dead-looking and dry, ancient and hostile. If I had to make a comparison it'd be Star Wars, Star Trek, Lost Planet, Treasure Planet, Ratchet and Clank... I don't think Avatar would even be on my list.

Okay you're right. The images look nothing like Avatar. Avatar is a visionary masterpiece, this is just terrible.

I looked back at them and actually...they dont look like avatar...rofl...I think i was just like "OOH waterfall and forest and giant plants and vaguely man-shaped walker robots!

I think it looks good, maybe I'm a bit of a Sci-fi person, but so far I haven't seen anything worrying about it (apart from the creators )
Also, they've stated very clearly that it will not be Runescape in Space. Sure there'll be hints, very naturally when the creators are the same, but I don't think you'll see any Runescape in SD.

I think they look good, too.
It's comparing realism with abstract - Avatar was never suppose to seem bland, but there's nothing wrong with keeping it real.
