First topic message reminder :

GEOGRAPHY
for the discussion of Pallis various geographical features, overall structure, composition etc.

As I envision it Pallis is a land half formed of nearly barren rock and huge mountains, while the rest is covered in lush forests and the few seas.

The bit of the text at the bottom that is almost completely unreadable says "less fauna".

The two tundra regions are basically summarised in that image, even though the snow-bit's barely visible. Tongue

All the way around it?

I can't draw mountains, but mountains are around the grassland area.

I just feel like the odd square shape obscures a lot that would be clearer in a circular map.

But maps are rectangle, so being half the world would make it square... surely?

Well, the image that inspired this was two vertical halves.

I meant to include the options on the map upload so we could discuss them, but I forgot... Tongue

[P] Geography - Page 2 Planes10

I think my last image was more of a 1, considering the cold-region was at a corner.

That would make sense, but then the scale would have to change drastically for the middle? I like squares, easier to upload also. Wink

Meh, I also like #1, (Imagin the calving that would happen when glaciers went off the edge...

Also, I think i agree with waht you said on the backstory thread that dragons should hold the north, I'm imagining cracks to heat/magic and then ice for the more frosty of the kindred.

So then the tropics would be somthing like an eye, starting above the "equator" but fading out before it hits the edge. Then grasslands near a sea, a sunken sea, a desert formed from pulevrized rock from a huge explosion, and ... Idk if that's really helpful to you...

So with relation to my last map, you want a sunken sea in the grassland area, and something tropical at the top? Or I suppose it could be in the middle? Perhaps the ground north was too barren to actually be topics, so only the southmost section of the eye is actually tropics?

This is me secretly trying to avoid having to blend two different coloured terrains - which I suck at. The barren to grass currently sits well with me 'cause it happens on a crack. But the grass to taiga looks lame, and using gradiants looks out of place.

1. The map is awesome! WELL DONE 3mptylord!

2. do we get to have names of the regions? So Much Win Win

3. I like the "boarder" between the two terrains.

4. Im speachless Neutral

5. could we like create two chest of arms, one for Dwallows and one for Mogruls? and like putting them on the map. idk the symbols yet but thinking on it Tongue

6. is the map realistic, well it will be maybe a bit different when we make it a sphere.. the other half of Gielinor.. (or is this a own planet?)

7. could the lakes be deeper in the middle ;D (detailed maybe only Tongue) if theres some deep sea graves or somethings ;D

1) Cheers Smile
2) Probably
3) Same, but I meant between the second, third and fourth. Wink

TRANSITION! That's what I was trying to say when I said blend. Wink

4) Tongue
5) COAT of Arms, and yes, that could be cool. Grin
6) It's almost realistic, there's slight scaling issues for wrapping it onto a sphere though. Tongue
7) Deeper? I don't think I showed depth at all.

And I'm still drunk from last night, so apologies if this makes no sense. Smile

how does the border looks like? is it like

dead and mountains ------ green grass and forest... or is it like somekind of lost battlefield that both sides (Mogruls and Dwallows) really dont go near... cuz maybe its hunted or maybe SOMETHING lives there, that both are a bit, afraid of, maybe Diminors having some secret rituals or anything that making it a living hell between the two territories? somekind of "no man's land"

You have to have a giant tower in the middle of nowhere. The scenery wouldn't be complete without one.

I was just thinking the stone stops, and then it's grass. Since neither races occupies their entire region, it's not like they're squeezing into the border. Tongue
