Age of the Wolf
For thousands of years, Arzonus protected the world of Gielinor from terrible fates. When the Gods were caught amongst fighting each other, no being was left in control of protecting that world against the threats from beyond the stars. Had no being stepped in, Gielinor would not be existing today; it would have fallen long ago to the creatures that would have seized this world in the grip of war, and the delicate realms such as the Dream World and the Spirit Plain would have been severed from the mortal lands.
When Arzonus was built, it pledged a duty to Gielinor and its inhabitants, to protect it from hostility from alien places, and to allow continual passages to the dimensions of the mind and soul. It still holds that pledge today, but recent events have been casting doubt towards this duty.
Continual attacks from monsters from these distant worlds, and the abuse this fragile plain sustained provided suitable reason for the Shadow Apprentices to be originally formed. Once an opposing sect of political opinion, it consisted of individuals who thought Arzonus should be rewarded greater for the duties it does and use its power to seize what it wants and to end the wars that damage the world far worse than what the alien kind could do. Sadly, the Shadow Apprentices were quickly perverted from their purpose by the likes of Mesophiles and the Nightmare, who both sought to destroy this world to force warring sides to appreciate their existences. When it was re-established centuries later, it was still fighting for the same cause, but quickly sunk back into old traditions with the resurgence of the Nightmare, Paige Shadowplay and Mesophiles once more.
Arzonus has held back attacks from the Wrao, the Kin, the Teleform and many terrible creatures; some even originating on their own side of the border. When the Nightmare threatened to destroy Gielinor once again by consuming it in darkness, this was the final straw. Just over a dozen warriors fought valiantly against this great evil and barely suceeded because of their powerful unity. It suffered tragic losses, but the greatest insult to injury was that everything resumed as it was. Despite the sky turning into the void, deathly apparations overrunning unarmed territory and the fate of the world almost cast, everything was saved from the brink and... everyone dismissed it and forgot. No thanks, no gratitude and no change; wars still continued, ridiculous squabbles proceeded and a city that nearly died to protect Gielinor was never acknowledged.
Civil unrest began to follow. Debates took place over whether Arzonus should sieze Gielinor and show themselves to the world or to remain under cover, for their power was dangerous if exposed.
"We fought for centuries against all kinds of monsters, foreign and domestic. We swore oaths to protect this world and swore towards influential neutrality and for what? For pathetic races to continue to ignore our good work, even in peace time? I disapprove! This world should be ours! We have defended it so often that the enemy believes to it be our own, so why shouldn't we just take it? If we took full control, we could show others what we can do and put an end to the ignorance other races have shown towards our work in favour of petty squabbles for beings as trivial as gods! Age of the Humans? It should be Age of the Wolf!" One side argues.
"It is best we keep ourselves hidden. Our work is based at the epicentre of chaos, the world needn't be brought into it. It is thanks to our work that all that is still is. By keeping our actions maintained, we have kept the peace. Surely that is reward enough? If other races became involved, more chaos could be wrought from it; some attacking in fear, others for access and ownership over these powers, without full awareness of what this duty involves. We don't need the world, our work is global, but it doesn't involve covering the globe with out presence, only where activity is needed, which is here, just beyond our walls." The other side argues.
The "Age of the Wolf" is a potential storyline for a quest, testing the player's moral decision. Neither side is wrong, but the player must choose for which they stand for; either to lay claim to the world with the power to end all wars or to remain in the silence, looking in simply the satisfaction that the world's continued existence is reward enough.

I go better with the second, as I think that if the Arzonus population took control of the world they'll be falling to the same thing they are trying to avoid, completly OP dicators of the world, and c'mon Morb whe all know you voted the first option

Re: Age of the Wolf
I've gotta be honest, I'm not 100% sure who the Arzonus, Mesophiles, Nightmare, Wrao or Teleform are... But this sounds AWESOME anyway, I love the idea of this plot...
Despite all that, I voted the Arzonus don't take control of Gielinor too, so I guess Morb must've been the one to vote the first option
I wanna know more!

Re: Age of the Wolf
yawn, with major plotholes, half decent writing, an egotistical creator, and overpowered main subjects.

I didn't vote for the first. I am trying to steer clear of that.

Re: Age of the Wolf
Considering how Arzonus pretty much has;
Arzonus
Hunter's Mountain
Battle Island
Fugitive Island
Lupine
Lycosa
Vulpes
Stagnant Energy Plant
Sky Sapphire
Latranz
and several other sites under their ownership, who needs the rest of the world? You've got everything you need from just those places alone.
