The greatest cover-up in modern times is the assault aboard the Obsidian Star. During this time of political unrest, the militia, led by a rogue general, carried out the execution of the scientists presenting their inventions aboard the luxury liner.

Though the exact events of the night are still foggy, three squadrons were reported to have been deployed; one with the purpose to kill the scientists presenting their works to the passengers, another to kill those with aura abilities, and a final naturally being the security team tasked with finding a bounty hunter that threatened to kill Maelstrom aboard the ship.

The aftermath resulted in memories being wiped, a number of death of civillians and the dismissal and banishment of militia soldiers following corrupted commands. Amongst the list of the dead was Maelstrom's first wife and his daughter. Her protectors, who also were aboard, were not seen again since that evening, but there is no evidence to suggest they died.

The Stone of Jas has been identified within Arzonus mythology, however it is named the Orb of Raizahka. According to the story, Raizahka was the first wolf and wanted to play with Guthix, but Guthix was too busy working on the world to play. Following the god home once, Raizahka found a strange sphere and she began to play with it. However, she tripped and the sphere broke, the top half breaking into 13 segments.

Afraid of Guthix's wrath, Raizahka took and hid the 12 segments across the world. Little did she know that her exposure to the segments was exposing her to the power of the elements. When she had finally hidden all the shards, Guthix had found what she had done and retrieved the last, smaller segment Raizahka had overlooked.

After explaining to Guthix what had happened, he paused, thought a moment and relieved her, stating no harm had been done. By breaking the crust of the sphere, the world could be permeated with the elemental energy, allowing life to differentiate, flourish and for mortals to use magic and aura. Guthix gave Raizahka the last shard, and fashioned it into a talisman, the Divine Hourglass, which allowed Raizahka to travel through time so that she could travel freely within time to find her own entertainment.

Despite rumours that state otherwise, it is commonly thought that Master Maelstrom has a condition known as Asperger's Syndrome. Whilst it makes him difficult to understand, it means he is able to theorise things others may have completely missed.

The Torn Realm, the dimension where the Nightmare was said to exist in the books of Nightfall, does in fact own a real name. It is named Xayeraxii in the original runes found there.

Modern historians believe that the Torn Realm is not the Nightmare's true home. According to Torn Runes, the language of the Torn Realm, the Nightmare's true domain is not anywhere in Gielinor at all. The same runes imply that the Nightmare has destroyed many other civilizations before reaching Gielinor, but this has since been suggested as entirely untrue and might simply be nothing more than intimidation from its followers.

Several weapons in Arzonus hold a variety of titles;

A Nightmare Key holds the title as the most versatile weapon as it can be modified to the wearer's content and is very powerful on its own.

The Cursed Cleaver is the most dangerous weapon to be injured by, as legend states that a wound inflicted by the cleaver will never heal and grow septic, that is if the user hasn't killed you.

Elora Magnus' Quarterstaff is the hardest weapon to wield. Once originally crafted to serve one of the Nightmare's followers, Elora Magnus stole it and killed the intended user for good measure. Since then, it has only been able to be wielded by her, almost as if it wouldn't obey anyone else. If carried by someone else, the quarterstaff feels dull, heavy and awkward to carry.

The Sword of Kusanagi is the most powerful weapon in existence. The sword carried with it the ability to control the wind and to that extent the weather and the air around it. In addition to that, weapons experts would give the sword a Strength Bonus of +279. There is also believed to be a sister sword to Kusanagi called Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi, more commonly known as Thunder Edge.

It is mostly believed that no Arzonusii werewolves live beyond the Arzonus territory, but there have been tales of werewolves living very distant from the mainland on a small island called the Obelisk. Stories tell of werewolves very much like the Arzonusii who live on the island that sits at the edge of this world and the gateway to the plane of destruction as defiance to the people who fight the eternal war on the other side.

Attempts to prove whether they do exist have brought with them relatively poor success. Only one werewolf is said to be able to traverse the lands unharmed, but the name is in elder tongue and hasn't been completely translated.

It is usually commonplace for some Shadow Apprentices to be double agents working with a variety of other causes. Some notables have also been recognised as Kinshra, ZMI, Dagon Hai and even Vyrewatch have been discovered working amongst the collection. It is suspected, but currently unknown, that members of the Red Axe and gnomes affiliated with Glouphrie might have strong ties with the Shadow Apprentices.

Within the books of Nightfall, the Nightmare is mentioned to have a very wonderful masculine singing voice. When it sings, all of its hordes and demons sing as a harmonious choir to its music.

Giovanni Magnus' wand, an object usually given to apprentices upon initiation, is the only unique wand in history. Whilst every wand is unique in shape, style and materials in accordance of their owner, Giovanni's is the only truly unique wand. It is the only wand measuring 13.5 inches in length, made from cursed magic wood and contains both infernal guardian and spirit guardian feather at the cores (the two objects cannot normally be placed within inches of eachother and this is the first instance of infernal guardian material being used at all).

Originally designed as an experiment, every individual who tried to wield it found it either refused to listen to them or simply tried to kill them. Curiosly, whilst it was made in the 3rd age, only Giovanni Magnus, who was born in the 5th age, could wield it. Even more curiously, whilst Giovanni is the only person who the wand obeyed, no other wands would obey Giovanni. Now that its master is unavailable, the wand now resides in the Arzonus archives, sealed in a lead-lined crate for safe keeping.

Quarterstaves are a notably preferred weapon within Arzonus combat lore. Due to their versatility as melee and mage weapons, they make effective means of basic combat, but, carefully augmented, a quarterstaff can be used as a range weapon and be a means of commanding summoning familiars more effectively and focussing aura.

Theta Magnus' quarterstaff has an unusual history. Nobles of Arzonus at the time wanted to make a weapon unique to them, more powerful than most others at the time. By harnessing the wood from the legendary Dramen Tree, the staff was correctly treated so it would be able to assimilate the qualities of weapons that came into contact with it. This allowed it not only to become resistant to those weapons, but also capable of destroying such weapons with the right effort.

Originally speculated as a means of fighting off and possibly slaying the likes of the Mahjarrat, the quarterstaff has travelled the world, collecting the qualities of the finest weapons as it went on its long voyage. However, most weapon experts believe that the staff itself has no supernatural powers beyond mimricy of other weapons; the true power lies in the owner, not the weapon.

The Arzonus Trivia - Page 2 Empty Re: The Arzonus Trivia

Post by MorbiusMonster Mon Sep 26, 2011 1:58 am

A few hundred years into the third age, during which Arzonus was still had Zarosian sympathies, the Arzonusii discovered the process of the Ritual of Rejuvination (most likely through means of legillimency). Towards the end, a somewhat confusing doctor decided to try and see whether Arzonusii could also use the properties of the ritual to their advantage.

His plan was to try and completely replace the blood of an Arzonusii with the blood of a Mahjarrat, in the belief that by having the coursing through his body, the werewolf doctor would be rejuvinated also at the ritual. It worked very well and seemed to actually be a possibility. The subject doctor was able to sense everything a Mahjarrat could before the ritual and evidently could have rejuvinated, but in what now seems like something of tremendous irony, the doctor not only became able to attend the ritual of rejuvination, but evidently became the sacrifice at said ritual, as the blood was still very powerful.

The third age was the first time any Arzonus werewolf has been on a foreign plane beyond RuneScape to modern memory. A piece of unusual technology fell from the sky near the outskirts, still functioning and was able to root itself in the heart of the city. On doing so, it gave information on a mysterious plane that was dubbed "Avalon".

When visiting this plane, using co-ordinates acquired from the machine part, the werewolves found the remainder of this machine in a seemingly abandoned world. Taking it with them, it began to connect itself into the city and then gave the werewolves impressive amounts of information, up until the machine broke for good.

Some of the developments brought about from this machine included advanced rift induction, pollutive refinement, biological innovations and long distance communication. The machine, despite being able to modify its information to compliment RuneScape physics, was reluctant to identify the culture it once came from.

It has been proven that Theta Magnus has some key experience in Necromacy, notably in the area that involves creating wights. Unlike Sliske's Barrow Wights, his were completely deceased when the process occured and retain the fatal wounds he inflicted upon them.

Theta Magnus was the eldest of five siblings. His siblings included Veresca (F), Aschen (F), Volsk (F) and Cooper (M). Between the births of Volsk and Cooper, human populations began to revisit Arzonus and the use of some human names became popular. Sadly, none of his siblings are alive today.

After their Master's disappearance, Theta Magnus' apprentices left the Master's Temple to continue their work elsewhere. The three some are incredibly strong and powerful werewolf warriors, but are chosen not just for their intellect, strength and will, but their overall resolve and compassion; never get on their bad side.

For whatever reason, some Novices of Theta Magnus that never made it to join their master's side as apprentices continue to try and please their former master with adventuring, rarely achieving success. One threesome have remained stuck in Lumbridge swamp, arrogantly sneering at passers by, banded with a human warrior, forever looking for Zanaris in the wrong direction. Many believe he just left them there so that he could have something to laugh about.
