RuneScape Radio
In a series of classified projects being performed the Wizard's guild, the Wizards discovered something interesting whilst initiating a cheat in magical physics. The wizards were trying to create a costant teleportation chain, similar to a portal, so goods could be transferred over a great distance very quickly from one cast. When they began to try and split the body in space, they came to the following conclusions.
1. It doesn't work.
2. Splitting a physical object isn't a replacement for duplication.
3. However, sound waves are unaffected.
Working on this further, the Wizard's guild discovered that sound could travel, but only one way, which gave them the bright idea of being able to use this idea to teleport sound over great distances, almost instantly.
And so RuneScape radio was concieved.
Runescape Radio is a simple system that indulges a different area of player community. Whilst player galleries and forums are means of reaching out to artists and writers, RuneScape radio uses player's music submissions, either remixes of RuneScape themes or self composed music.
The wizard's guild have devised a small object a person can wear which allows them to hear the sound that has been split and teleported via this method. One of these can be acquired very easily from the Wizard's Tower and each is already connected to four different sources;
The Radio Piece is carried in the Aura space of the player's worn components. Wizards have found that aura intereferes with the signal, so advise people to use either one or the other.

- RuneScape Classical - The Wizard's Guild is the leading building in producing classical and orchestral music. This is the standard radio station for the RuneScape radio.
- The Rock Radio - The inmates on the Rock are inspired to use their time constructively, so some have decided to try new music methods. Plays rock music.
- Blurberry Jam - On this radio station, operating from the Gnome Restraunt, fast and slow paced beats are played originally to encourage customers, but instead, Blurberry decided to use the Grand Tree's natural height to his advantage and transmit the music further out. Plays jazz and salsa.
- Elemental Techshop - Whilst tinkering around with some of the tools in the Seer's village workshop, a local music enthusiast discovered how putting together a variety of unusual sounds makes an alternative style of music. Using the Seer's Village clock tower, this musician and a less enthusiastic seer now run a station dedicated to this genre. Plays techno music.

In other words, players can submit or recommend music for the radio to play while it is live.
Members can have further features where they can request specific tracks from popular musicians (such as recent pop and the likes).
Each major language region has their own radio in the respective language.

Wow, that's a fantastic idea. I'd love to see some of the development blgos broadcast like this on a separate channel. Maybe let players submit their own journalistic interviews with various clans/prominent figures. But regardless, I think the original idea is fabulous on it's own.

Re: RuneScape Radio
"Fabulous" made me chuckle for reason I don't fully understand.
In an event, good idea. Although in order to have a 24 hour stream without too much drain on resources it would likely be a single, "online radio" broadcast. Unless I got the whole concept wrong, and you just meant Grand Theft Auto style loops.

Re: RuneScape Radio
Maybe it wouldn't be live 24 hours, perhaps past a certain time it's set to automatic. The rest of the time it will be live with hosts. Since RuneScape's audio engine is capable of handling advanced audio now (after hearing Nex's death threats), hosts could be on at the same time, also reading news announcements both from the website or fictitious ones based around game events.

Re: RuneScape Radio
From the Q&As I was in yesterday, it's clear RuneScape has a very enthusiastic community management team who I'm sure could easily handle the community side of things
The music composer would require developing though - I'm pretty sure one doesn't exist in game. That said, it would seem worth it.
I think you'd need to flesh it out though. It needs more than just music compositions.
It could run small-ingame competitions maybe? Have a channel which teaches players some lore, perhaps? Another with tips and advice? Just some ideas...
