Branches of Darkmeyer
Discuss thisIt is a dark time for the Myreque. Vanstrom has been tasked with
wiping them off the face of RuneScape, and he is taking his job very,
very seriously. Supply routes have been cut, innocents killed and some
have even seen Vanstrom himself on the outskirts of Burgh de Rott.
There’s no more time to waste. An unexpected informant will lead you
into the city of Darkmeyer, home to the vampyres, where you will hunt
for the fabled Blisterwood Tree. Feared by the vampyres who have spent
centuries trying to kill it, the immortal tree has plagued Drakan to
such an extent that he has simply built a vault around it. Now is your
time to access that vault, make weapons from the tree and take the fight
to the vampyres, and more specifically Vanstrom.
Cast any fears you have to the winds as you explore the huge area of
Darkmeyer, gaining enough status to be recognised as a vyrelord, and
shedding vampire blood in our latest master quest. Come out alive, and
you’ll get access to new vampire-beating equipment and an item that can
teleport you across Morytania, including the Barrows.

Most of us now could own Vanstrom in very little time. No wonder he's paranoid.

Re: Branches of Darkmeyer
Now here's an interesting development...
70 Magic has been ADDED () to the requirements of Branches of Darkmeyer. (If you don't believe me go to the behind the scenes and check it out, they even admit this has been added after BTS was posted)
According to an official post on the future updates forum, this is for a new magic weapon... A Blisterwood Staff perhaps??

Re: Branches of Darkmeyer
OK, anyone with the requirements for this quest is in for one hell of a good time. Expect mindf*****g plot points, really really tough combat (In my opinion tougher than the balance elemental or the pest queen) and AWESOME graphics. Bit worried I've oversold it to you now, but hey, I really enjoyed it.
I won't discuss the spoilers just yet (However, I can reveal that no pillars are dropped in this quest, horray!), but when someone's ready to talk about the events of the quest, let me know.

Yeah I know, I am dying inside, but I had like a nerd-gasm and I already checked the spoilers, but according to a scientific thing, reading spoilers makes you more exited , and slayer, do you think Mod ana is worth of Mod Tytn place?, btw what's your Vyrelord name

Re: Branches of Darkmeyer
I think Mod Ana has done a brilliant job with the quest series. Wasn't really expecting puzzles in the Myreque series, but it was a good puzzle, so I have little to complain about.
And OMG yes. Nerd-gasm is definitely the word to describe my response to the plot.
My Vyrelord name is Draconis Sanguine by the way.

- Spoiler:
- What did you do to Maria Gadderanks, and is Darkmeyer like a normal city, I mean do it has a bar and a shop or two?1

Re: Branches of Darkmeyer
- Spoiler:
- Darkmeyer is like a normal city, it has shops and even a bank. It is, however, evil and filled with vampyres
I regret to say I tormented Maria and ordered her to be tithed to death in order to gain reputation. After the quest, I went back to try and save her, but she's given up all hope and won't even try to escape. You have to do some pretty terrible things to become a vyrelord

Re: Branches of Darkmeyer
Looks like I'll have to modify "Aid of Arzonus". This time, the Arzonus werewolves have come to collect the werewolves, but Drakan isn't quite ready to hand them over and would rather see the Myreque destroyed first. It can be attempted once Darkness of Hallowvale is completed, it isn't strictly canon until it rejoins after Branches of Darkmeyer. Of course, Vanstrom won't be able to fight you in one stage of the quest if you've completed BoD, but will be replaced by another vyrewatch.
Theta Magnus still serves the purpose of the misunderstood individual, in the sense that he sells the Lonely ones to Drakan. It's all part of the plan though, he'll explain later in the Nightmare Begins.
