Ardougne!?
First topic message reminder :
Ardougne...when compared to Falador, Lumbridge, Varrock, Seers, and Catherby it seems like a ghost town...
What could be done to spruce it up?

Re: Ardougne!?
Don't worry Ardougne, your thieves' guild will be better!
As a fairly high-levelled player, I expect low levelled quests to bore me and, thus, I ignore that. However, when the mighty thief said "I'm too well known for this..." I was like... GTFO! What kind of thief is well known...

Must've been a bit of a shock when the new Theive's Guild showed up today.

Re: Ardougne!?
I had expected it to be a lot cooler. I mean, registering the Thieves' Guild with the Official Guild Registrary (WTF?!)
Also the guild itself is just too silly, why are we hitting coshing volunteers with rubber blackjacks and stealing blue and red handkerchiefs from their pockets, which we can exchange for awesome rewards (Exp only).
Failing to crack the wall safe will result in you getting hit by RUBBER spikes dealing no damage. Failing to pickpocket will result in WHOPPING 1 point damage.
The story fails, the guild fails, and I am not going back there.

Re: Ardougne!?
Yeah, initiation seemed a bit weird...
Ooh, and whilst probably trying to be funny, if you're high enough levelled the "master thief" will be amazed at your skills and ask you to teach him... I really wanted to say "No, eff off!" by this point.
And all the rubber and stuff...

Re: Ardougne!?
I am thinking of creating a real Thieving Guild that has existed (and stolen stuff) for hundreds of years. They are situated in a huge underground complex filled with stolen stuff, below Ardougne. They are a bit similar to the Illuminati, with unseen members and contacts everywhere. They are 'lead' (No one commands a thief) by a council of 12 thieves.
Upon attempting to join, two members declares motion of no confidence against you. The first one is Katrine Raven, leader of the Black Arm Gang. She's mad at you for stealing the Shield of Arrav, but offers to withdraw her motion of no concidence if you can retrieve the shield from the Varrock Museum.
The second is the Grandmaster, who's not pleased that you've helped set up an impostor guild, and wants you to help shut it down, or at least make it 'more favorable'.
After you've gotten rid of the motions of no confidence (I just learned a new word) you can take the admission test.
I haven't really figured what would be in the guild. First of all, it's filled with all kinds of locks, chests, traps and rare stuff. Also, there are more shady persons who can send you on more interesting capers. Also when you are admitted, you'll also find that members around Gielinor will talk to you too.
I'm sure you got plenty of ideas/improvements, I just rambled something I came up with on my way home

Re: Ardougne!?
What about the Phoenix guy? Or visa versa depending on who you actually stole from...
Sounds good! I think the only difference between our ideas (well, the bits I've actually thought up) is that you're is underground. Mine wasn't hidden. Well, it could have had an underground segment - but the main building was above ground, and the main thieves were all respectable/nobles.

Re: Ardougne!?
I figured I would use Katrine, too avoid too much influence from Shield of Arrav. I figured there could be some backstory to avoid that.
I suppose it could have overground segment as well Also, members of the council could be respectable people, the more different people, the greater the influence. I am going with Illuminati inspiration, and respectable members would fit more than perfect

Trixtor, it's not a thieve's guild, it's a thieving tutorial. Go complete it, all of it and you'll know what I am unhappy about

Re: Ardougne!?
The artwork looks great! Someone should suggest this on the official forums... and, go into detail about the thieves' guild while they're at it.
