Re: Dark Avorian! A Strange Mind!
You'd need to try harder than that to finish off the True Nightmare (combat lvl 750). And even then, you'd still have to beat the Living Nightmare's four formes (this word is more commonly used to describe phases of shapeshifted).
You probably think I've gone mad or wonder what I am talking about...

Re: Dark Avorian! A Strange Mind!
750!? Oh come on, that's way too far for a quest boss. That's optional-boss territory, surely. RS is the only game I've seen which expects you to beat things over 5 times the maximum level you can reach.
Considering that's actually possible, I'm starting to wonder if enemy CB levels really do reflect enemy stats, or are just there to look dramatic.
Gratz on beating Nomad. My brother spent the last month trying to best him (which, finally, he did).
The whole "heal after reaching 1/3HP" gimmick seemed a step too far if you ask me. I'm guessing someone at Jagex was having a bad day when they came up with that boss.

Re: Dark Avorian! A Strange Mind!
The lvl 750 is the final boss that bears 10,000 life points. However, like in While Guthix Sleeps, a mysterious power will protect you from any true harm.
And before that is a level 520 which becomes faster and more aggressive as you deplete her health (not to mention that in her normal form she is immune to ALL forms of attack and you have to split her apart and pick off the individuals that make her up in order to defeat her).
It's still in the planning stages, so I really don't want to give away information on the Arzonus Grand Master.

Re: Dark Avorian! A Strange Mind!
And both will have a definite strategy to defeat them, unlike Nomad who employs the *yawn* "Go in and kill without being killed" technique. RuneScape is becoming too simple and there is simple not enough thought put into combat.
There is going to be a lot of thought put into this quest, pretty much everything I've written so far will lead to this point. All we need is to find a way of how everything can be tied together, to create a truly unique and innovative plot that can make the Arzonus swan song one to remember.

Re: Dark Avorian! A Strange Mind!
Yeah, Nomad was too easy. We need more bosses of equal difficulty, or higher, to Nomad but more challenging to kill.
*facepalm*
Ah well, I gave up trying to wear my quest cape ages ago.

Re: Dark Avorian! A Strange Mind!
Well, let's be honest, Nomad was a far more interractive boss than any other in RS. You genuinely had to react to his varying assaults.
I was glad to see a boss with more than a simple, standant attack. RPG bosses are all about their multiple tactics and gimmicks.

Re: Dark Avorian! A Strange Mind!
Blaze, talking about your friend who took a month to kill Nomad...
Well, you're is scaring me ____less even more. -.-
But then again, I was pretty scared the first time I did Dream Mentor, or any quest that involved a high level boss. (Like I am hesitant to finish MEP2 and Summer's End- both are my last quest requirements for WGS), but then somehow as the battle progresses as it becomes easier usually, I start to calm down. You should have seen me beast at the Tz-Haar Fight Cave (I got up to the 31st round then purposefully died! XD)
But yeah, I like it how the quests are becoming more challenging... then again I only have 14 left to complete... I do agree that there needs to be more tactful combat.
Because of that I changed the Big Boss in Gielinor's Fiyre - before I changed it, you killed the big, level 400 Giant Demonic Doll instantly in a cutscene, but now you have to fight it! It is now level 470, and it will be quite a challenge since you cannot use any other prayer other than Piety and an Amulet of Eternal Fiyre to even scratch it! Its melee can pulverize instantly, so you have to mage or range it, but be careful though, because it might throw a pew at you! XD
