Ye Gods! Empty Ye Gods!

Something is stirring. The backstory of Daemonheim reveals that the Mahjarrat bilrach was delving down with his followers (the dungeons and beasts are his). He remarked about a huge source of power, he remarked about the statues that look like Dragonkin, and he remarked about the "ender of the god wars." That is deeply disturbing, it shakes the foundation of current Gielinorian theology, the assumption that Guthix can enforce the edicts, destroy the world, and was powerful enough to end the God wars.

The implication of Bilrachs notes is that the stone of Jas, a huge source of power guarded by the Kin, was the "ender of the God Wars" which means that it was Guthix's power source, which means...he no longer can be assumed to have the aforementioned capabilities.

Keep up, that's common accepted theology. Ever since Meeting History when it was shown he used the stone to make magic. Tongue

Ooh, just had a thought... what if the stone is what is actively enforcing the Edicts? No-one knows what Lucein is planning aside from the assumed notion he plans to follow in Zamorak's footprints. What if he actually intends to break the stone? Shattering the Edicts... maybe with more colossal side effects?

Whether Guthix still requires the stone as a power source is unknown. Zamorak has remained a god indefinitely, and rune essence shows no sign of reverting to standard rocks. Tongue

Yeah, that assumes the manner of the "spells" that created those. If the stone of Java Application Server just pumped a few vundajoules of energy into the essence/zamorak/edicts with instructions then nothing really will happen, but that's where magic get's a bit annoying...because if that works then the gods should just be able to put 10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(10^(googol)))))))))) joules into themselves and be ...well whatever...

*brain bleeds* Tongue

Edit: It would seem Guthix's power might be perminant. I've just though, he can't've had the stone when he ended the war... could he? Zamorak was the last known to be in its possession... and if the Dragonkin had it during the fourth age? Unless Guthix and the Kin are at all related... maybe the Kin are part of the stone? There is a creation theory that the world ends when the last of the Kin dies. Tongue
