Pentagram Project
"Between the rune altars flows energy, huge amount of energy. They're comparable to ocean currents in size and power. Sadly, we can only harness a tiny fraction of the power. Even where two or three currents cross, the amount of energy is simply not worth the work. But yes... If some kind of nexus existed, where several flows crossed in one single point... Imagine the possibilities!"
The idea is kinda farfetched, and if you haven't seen the pentagram picture you should do it. The basic idea is kinda stolen from Full Metal Alchemist. The alchemists who built the tower of life, are only parts of a much greater plot. Four more 'towers' has to be built. Built above sealed rune altars, to open them, and their all important energy currents.
In the nexus, the point where all five currents cross, just North of Ardougne either above ground, or below in some dungeon connected to the Chaos Druid Tower. Something undefined is going to happen when the seal on all the altars has been removed.
Us unknowingly playing Creature Creation in the basement of the Tower of Life, has drained on the mystic powers of the seal; and the altar itself, and now all there is left for us to do, is to remove it and unlock the first part of the devious pentagram, before another tower is to be constructed.
Also, who are these mysterious Illuminati-like "Alchemists' Council", and what is their purpose? Also, the zamorakians have already discovered another altar, but they don't know what it is, they think it is simply broken.
So... This is quite massive, but what do you think?

Ooh, some of that can be implemented too
Also... The really cool idea would be somehow to kill all living within the pentagram .

Well... The idea was kinda strange, and I didn't do a very good job at explaining

Re: Pentagram Project
It appears a fair point can be made from the diagram I saw here. Each of the points hits an area where something powerful lurks.
Top corner lands on the dungeon where the Dragon's Forge for the Dragon Platebody can be found (melee).
The mid-right point hits the Temple of Ikov near the range guild (range)
The lower right point hits the Tower of Life, a power normally gods have (prayer)
The lower left point hits the Ourania runecrafting altar (though from above ground, it appears to have missed it, yet beneath it is dead cente on it) (magic).
The final point, if this was looked into, could perhaps have something to do with the fifth kind of combat, summoning (and now I've spotted this, I'm going to nick it).

Ooh, those are good points. I thought it had to hit the Tower of Life, and then I toyed with the rest and these just fitted places that could be interesting. Thanks for pointing out
EDIT: Would threatening to destroy a large amount of innocent civilians if we don't co-operate, be too UnRunescapey?

Nah, it'd fit the bill. The Nightmare plans to do the same in his "great agenda".

alright, alright I'll help!
Well I read your idea, and thought it was interesting.
Possibly the Chaos Druid placed their tower there on purpose, searching for a well- a magical well that sends pure, evil magical energy directly from the Abyss into Runescape.
The eastern point on the pentagram is like the exact location in Gielinor's Fiyre where you find the HQ of the Gielinor's Fiyre cult... coincidence, maybe? (underground of course)
I also see the temple of Ikov is another point or the pentagram. (underground of course)
Including another point at the entrance of the Underwater Dungeon.
Possibly the well is sending the magical energies to the towers who were built to harness its massive power.
At each intersection of the angles might point to a possible clue in the quest. There are ten in all, now unlocking these clues of course triggers a boss battle of fighting a unique creature that cannot be killed by means of traditional warfare- you have to use a non combat skill to actually deal damage.
-- Ok this gets strange as I try and make a quest from the already given information. It might be terrible and horribly underdeveloped, but hey, who knows, it might be amazing?
- Spoiler:
- To add on your story, possibly weird things might happen while you start creating animals after all of the commotion at the Tower of Life. Now, this Tower actually pumped the magic out of this well, and now since it hasn't been in use, it never went anywhere, so it sat. Now, that it is back in full fight- the source is depleted. Now there are slight tremors in every tower, along with the entire realm of Gielinor! Now, with the first tremor, the Chaos Druids found the epicenter of quakes- the well that their tower is situated over!
Oh, and they tap that power.
Now, they have become infinitely powerful, but they are only like that if you find the towers that the well is linked to and cut off its supply, then the magical well will become so concentrated, it would obliterate the druids!
Lol, I don't know... I'll think about it a little more.

Re: Pentagram Project
It also appears each area follows a different god as well.
Top corner - Barbarians who follow Guthix.
Mid right corner - Temple of Ikov - Guardians of Armadyl.
Lower Right corner - Tower of Life - Presumably Saradomin.
Lower Left corner - Ourania Altar - Zamorakian Institute.
Mid Left corner however is the odd one out again. Although, if a summoning spot was placed there, it might be related with Seren or Zaros.

Re: Pentagram Project
I don't see the relation between the Tower of Life and Prayer. To be perfectly honest. Also, neither Seren and I doubt Zaros are related to Summoning. Guthix damns it as a breach of the balance between life and death (lol I know, since Guthixians practice it) [edit] but since Guthixian's use it I'd say Summoning would probably be most related to Guthix. But maybe relate Mr Unknown to Bandos? Then have his/that powerful location being related to Prayer (some temple or something). Then Summoning could be at the tower where we create life... :L Although why they need to be related to skills I don't really get...

Just a FYI, the mid-left corner is the the location of the cult that believes all gods should be respected and treated equally, despite their suicidal claims.
Their HQ is placed like exactly where the mid-left corner is. However, it is underground and is destroyed in Gielinor's Fiyre.
3mpty, of course there isn't a relation to prayer, it is more scientific than godly/magic-y. So possibly the tower could represent the atheism because there ARE atheists living in Runescape. The tower might not EVEN represent any deity, it might be there sapping energy, and causing an imbalance.
Also, notice that the Tower of Life is very close to the Necromancer.

3mpty, cut the ******* egomaniacal act. Could you for one second perhaps realize that your little "oh I'm a role-player and a big time suggester so my word is law" act is false! YOU ARE NOT JAGEX! Stop dicking around and acting like your every fart is canon.

Re: Pentagram Project
I don't necessarily think each one should be assigned to a god+class, it would be too limiting for the story. Of course you can always think that a reward could be a specific class, but I don't think it should be something to aim for.

Re: Pentagram Project
His opinion I can stand. This stupid attitude where he acts as though his interpretation is the only one really gets on my nerves. If Druids practice summoning, then Guthix probably is okay with it...

Re: Pentagram Project
Guthix said in the letters that he does not condone Necromancy or anything that would distort the balance of life and death. I'm sorry... how was that being egomaniacal? Sorry, I'm actually struggling to see what part of my post made you flip out.

Re: Pentagram Project
So 3mpty, let me get this straight.. your interpretation of one line in a GOD LETTER (back alley of RS) is more canon than the actual situation in RS? Did you ever think that perhaps there is a lore reason for the distinction...maybe guthix only cares about reanimating corpses, or sentient races...or...

Re: Pentagram Project
I'm still not getting the confusion what you're getting upset about here...
So Guthix said he doesn't like summoning. Doesn't mean people aren't going to practice it and claim to be Guthixian. Nearly every Saradomin supporter is against that which is preached by his priests. I'm not saying anything should be done, nor do I want anything done. Jeez, I'm sorry for speaking.
