Re: A Slayer's Blog (guess who's back)
So, after ages trying to figure out how to delete the poll on this thread, I've found in the FAQ that only an admin or a mod can do it. 3mpty, I'm looking at you.
Anyway, I've been lucky enough to have Mod Pi answer one of my questions on a Q&A. I thought I'd share it with you (and preserve it here for my own inspiration).
How often do content developers look at player suggestions for inspiration? If/when they do, what do they take from them? Small elements? Or have you ever made content purely out of a player suggestion?
I look at the suggestions every day. I have a notepad document of good players suggestions that I see and try and put them in if they fit in with what i'm working on at that moment. Sadly we don't reply very often that we like a suggestion as we cannot make any promises that it will go into the game! We also have a "todo list" for the whole content team and lots of the items in there are approved player suggestions!
Also, any chance of seeing more competitions for players to design content?
I know I'd love to see some of my ideas ingame.
I like this idea and would love to see more of it, The Runespan would not exist without you guys asking for it first! How cool is that!

Re: A Slayer's Blog (guess who's back)
Poll deleted. Could you really not do it?
Anyway, nice question and equally nice answer. I guess it's just a shame that by the time it leaves the "todo list" that even the author doesn't recognise their own work, half the time. Or, that's assuming anything has actually been released from that list and not that it's just growing indefinitely.

According to this site's FAQ:
"As with posts, polls can only be edited by the original poster, a moderator, or board administrator. To edit a poll, click the first post in the topic, which always has the poll associated with it. If no one has cast a vote then users can delete the poll or edit any poll option. However, if people have already placed votes only moderators or administrators can edit or delete it; this is to prevent people rigging polls by changing options mid-way through a poll"
So yeah, the power really does lie with you. I'll think twice before creating another poll
And I know what you mean. I did add an edit to my question, asking for examples of player suggestions that became content, to see if there was anything I recognised, but sadly I did that too late, and it was missed.
Still, it's enough to inspire me. And if I have convinced the Mods to run suggestion competitions, then that'll be a good thing for us, I'm sure.

Red like almost every chordate?
You still need to be cool and blue. And Btw, Blue takes precedence over bright red.

Re: A Slayer's Blog (guess who's back)
I'll strike you all down with Shadow Claw and then unleash a dark pulse to incapacitate you.
After that, you'll wake up to find Slayer is gone, he is mine!
And I might cast a notorious "c-boy" curse on Dark Avorian. He's really going to be feeling that one.
