The Suggestion Team in Team Fortress 2

I have been looking online and I found this game called Team Fortress 2. Within this game, we each work as part of a team to complete an objective, and I think these roles seem ideal for each of us.

I'm not sure I'm flattered. My class of preference was also the Pyro, or the Spy depending on whether I had my troll on.

I only ever played Heavy when a specific friend of mine played Medic, because we were an awesome duo. Smile

Didn't realize they'd uploaded all the Meets, though. I'll have to catch up.

I think, however, the Engineer is a little strange choice for me. I would much prefer to be the pyro dude or the spy....lol

Despite him not being my favourite, my best score is on the Sniper. Camping for kills is easy once you're in the zone.

I prefer to be the sniper, I am just the kind of person who'd rather not go out on the field, but bide my time well and strike when they least expect it. I love that.

I take it you've played this before 3mpty. Which console do you have it on? I might go out and get the "Orange Box" which has this, Portal and Half Life 2 on it.

I think you've completely missed the point of the Sniper. If you want someone who bides their time and strikes when you least expect it, you should play the Spy. The Sniper's role is very much expected... it's merely about taking a vantage points and enjoy the inevitability of enemies having to come through.

But of course. If I'm honest, I think that people who haven't played it are the minority... you're very late to the party if you've only just got it. Wink

I have Orange Box on both consoles and the PC. So every platform.

Well first of all, we should check if anyone else has the game. If we have more than nine people who do, then we can have more than one person taking on certain roles. We each give the roles a try out and then see how well we fit into them.

Well, you're in luck Dragon. As long as you are registered on Steam, you can get it for free.

Ultimately, I prefer to use it on the PS3 so I can play it faster, my computer will not run games, despite having 4GB of RAM (though it only EVER uses 2)

I gave Team Fortress a go yesterday. Here's how it went down...

I killed one engineer as a Pyro, but it was a joint effort.

I played as the Spy, but my cover was blown when choosing between killing a random opponent and the engineer who killed me times before. I was also disguised as a medic, so that would have also made it obvious, medics hang around with soldiers, demomen and heavies.

As the Sniper I was quick to be killed, but I am fairly good at being patient. One demoman kept killing me, but I got my vengeance; back of the head and right behind him. I also took him from the front in the same round, it felt so satisfying. I think I've been killed more by spies and other snipers.

Anyway, we should make a genuine thing out of this over the holidays, a day or evening when we can all play together on the same team. You don't have to play as the class I've suggested, that was just an idea. What sort of day would be great?

So I thought I'd give being an engineer a try. Sadly, my inventions never get used, mainly because I am too afraid to build them out in the open. I managed to do very well as a medic, but when the situation turned ugly, I wasn't able to survive long enough.

Regardless of what class I choose, there is still one major problem; close range combat. Whenever I am attacked on close quarters, I panic and then I just attack randomly. Terrible thing to do when you're up against a character like a Scout, they move so quickly.

Valve still alude to what gender the Pyro is. The Heavy speaks like the Pyro has no gender, whilst Scout's subtitles say "He's not here, is she?".
