Homecoming Apocalypse Discussion - Page 3 Empty Homecoming Apocalypse Discussion

Post by The Empty Lord Wed Jul 01, 2009 9:00 am

First topic message reminder :

Homecoming Apocalypse
Many lives were spent during the war erasing Him from memory; desecrating His name and burning the remnants.

Stories from the time before Guthix speak of an Age of Darkness and that a matrix that was constructed to conceal the shadows; to imprison them and the filth that dwelt within. Though the matrix has remained sealed since, the feuding lords would not risk otherwise. And so efforts were made to conceal the matrix and prevent the empty rising. Keys scattered. Locks disguised. The shadows would forever be His prison.

But more than the likes of the light dwell within the unblinking darkness.

Each guardian within the quest is to be treated as a miniquest in itself, not merely a task within a quest. Storylines and such may be miniquest specific. Such as Malak, the creature you fight my not actually be the Guardian; combat isn't even necessary, as with Raunton.

One description I read (written by a Fremennik who knew not what he was actually witnessing), referred to the skies "dripping with venom and fire" and the ground "twisting into grotesque forms with mouths that chewed at the roots of trees that bled".
Perhaps these could be used as inspiration for the new ancient spells. Wink

Seriously, I never said you had to cut anything, all I said was that you could put all this in the path of obtaining the diamond. Rather than obtaining the diamond then being forced into a great puzzle - have the puzzle part of the challenge to get there. You never gave a reason why the puzzle even exists, even after I asked. I even said right before you ragequitted that "Magic may be protecting it"... I was working with you. But you never gave any reason. You just had "You take the diamond and suddenly you're teleblocked for no apparent reason".

Then you tell me there is a guardian - well I'm sorry I didn't realise you'd changed that. If I was aware from the start it might've been easier to talk to you about the whole thing. But I was arguing with you because I thought that mud was still what it was, but you were writing for something else. I don't object mud actually being a guardian, all I said was that it would've been nice to know.

Lol, Adyna already has an awful lot - you sure you don't wanna take something a little less completed? I think she's the Mind Guardian now, rather than Psyche. Confuse

We never gave them one. Does Thorg currently use any? Urgh - stuns the target and inflicts static damage that hits at double the rate of poison, but half the damage? *shrugs*

Static, Thorn and two others are newer than the other new ones. Wink

Edit - Ah yes, Venom and Gust. Tongue

Wink Grin Angry Confuse Tongue Pleased Sad Shock Smile Cry Cool |-) Blush Sigh < I need to improve the yawn one.

Y'whhhaaAAAAATT? affraid

How about a shock status? The victim takes more damage from hits depending on how much metal their wearing? (metal + electricity + person inside the said metal = Twisted Evil )

Thrip! Lol, I think that Thrip's species might need changing... I'm imagining male but banshees are female. I have no idea what's planned. Wink

Homecoming Apocalypse Discussion - Page 3 Empty Re: Homecoming Apocalypse Discussion

Post by Dark Avorian Mon Aug 17, 2009 3:50 am

Okay...here are my personal ideas for thrip

Thrip the tormented one: Long ago a necromancer's spell went horribly wrong...trapped by a horde of dreadful banshees he had unwittingly summoned and warped by the horrible magic he unleashed he became a creature vast and dreadful that cannot be described, he was tormented for centuries by 7 horrid banshees known as the forgotten ones, no one knows the exact circumstances but at some point he released magic he had gathered over the years in one horrifying scream that drove back even the banshees...he then ran and hid in the fogs of the mort myre...

The Forgotten Ones: In order to even have thrip come out of his powerful cloaking spells you must hunt down and kill the 7 forgotten ones who roam the swamps searching for Him

Aesys: A powerful magic user...she has low hitpoints but has an attack similar to the spirit beasts splashing attack and is hugely powerful

Aeyen: Her scream penetrates even earmuffs draining your stats. she also has high defence.

Aelid: She fires ice arrows from her bow that are a combination of magic and range...they can freeze you and poison you

Aeyes: A deadly foe...she has three different attacks each representing a side of the combat triangle...a Mage-Melee combo, A Mage-Range combo, and a Melee Range combo...all of which are long ranged...and can hit up to 40 (20 w/ one of the protections on)

Aesan: Can switch between mage and melee and attacks at a tremendous speed...can hit up to 15 with any attack

Aedel:Hits up to 30 and prayer is innefective...uses slayer dart and shadow spells

Aezos: Can summon up to 7 banshee mages/rangers and is hersefl a proficient meleer...

Once they have all been defeated you may go to a certain location and thrip will thank you...when you ask for the diamond he will laugh and attack you

Thrip can scream (earmuffs) send a noxious fog (nosepeg) and send a choking fog (facemask)

More importantly he stays directly at the edge of where it is possible to see and can never be made to be any closer...the only way to attack him is to speak to frumscone who will show you a way to far extend to reach of slayer dart...The clue to this is that whilst fighting he will say the following

Only one has even touched me...

I will give you his name...maybe
